Attaining wisdom. In the Entering the Middle Way, the fifth generation of mind is completed. With a focused mind of equanimity dwelling, turning towards the Dharma of the Perfect Buddha, seeing the reality of the arising of the world, one attains cessation by abiding in wisdom. Just as a group of blind people is easily led to their desired place by a single person with sight, so too, here, with wisdom, one takes the qualities of the eye and attains victory. How does one realize the profound Dharma through it? Because of the scriptural and other logical proofs, thus, the tradition of the noble Nagarjuna, should be explained according to the way it abides. Even in the time of ordinary beings, after hearing about emptiness, joy repeatedly arises within. The tears born from joy moisten the eyes, and whoever's body hairs stand on end, that one has the seed of the Perfect Buddha's wisdom. That is the vessel for close instruction, and the truth of the ultimate meaning should be taught to that one. That one will generate the qualities that follow it, and will always abide by properly upholding the precepts. One will give generously and cultivate compassion, practice patience, and dedicate that merit to enlightenment, in order to liberate beings, and will respect the Perfect Bodhisattvas. A person skilled in the profound and vast principles will gradually attain the Joyful Ground. Therefore, listen to this path with a seeking mind. It arises from that, not from another, so how could it arise from something else? Not arising from both, how could it arise without a cause? If it arises from that, then there is no merit whatsoever, and what has already arisen should not arise again. If one thinks that what has already arisen arises again, then the arising of sprouts and so on will not be found here, and the seed will be exhausted and only arise. How can it completely destroy it? The actions of the creator seed are different, as are the shape of the sprout, and the differences in color, taste, ability, and maturity, which you will not have. If the previous self eliminates things and becomes different from it, then how is that its nature at that time?

Thus it transforms. If your seed and sprout are not other, just like the seed, the so-called sprout is not acceptable, or they are one, how can it be like the sprout, it is also acceptable? Therefore, this is not acknowledged. Because even if there is a cause, its effect can be seen, the world will not acknowledge that they are one. Therefore, the extreme inference that things arise from self-nature is unreasonable in both ultimate truth and conventional truth. If it is thought that it arises from self-nature, then the thing to be produced and the producer, as well as the action and the agent, should also be one, but they are not one, so it is unreasonable to admit that it arises from self-nature, because it will fall into the fault of extensive explanation. If it depends on the other, if it arises from the other, then thick darkness will also arise from the flame, and all things will also arise from all things, because for all non-producers, otherness is the same. Therefore, what is capable of producing action is called the fruit, and what is capable of producing it is the cause, even if it is the other is also the cause. Because it belongs to the same lineage and arises from the producer, if it is said that the sprout of Salu does not arise from barley, etc., then how can it be thought that barley, saffron, and purple ore, etc., can produce the sprout of Salu? This is impossible. Similarly, it does not belong to the same lineage, nor is it similar. The seed of Salu is not it either, because it is the other. The sprout and the seed do not exist at the same time, and if there is no otherness, how can it become the other? Therefore, the sprout is not produced and accomplished from the seed, so this view that it is produced from the other should be abandoned. Just like the two ends of a scale, one high and one low, do not exist at the same time, but can be seen, if the birth and death of the thing to be produced and the producer are also like this, if they are simultaneous, then there is no simultaneous existence here, nor is it simultaneous. If it is said that the thing that is being produced does not exist because it tends to be produced, and the thing that is disappearing, although it exists, is considered to be tending to destruction, then, at this time, how can this be like a scale? This kind of production, if there is no author, is unreasonable.
