Like a field. Those with this kind of wisdom will not become different either. Therefore, you have taught the unequal yet undifferentiated vehicle to beings. Because beings have the defilements that generate faults, the world cannot enter the profound realm of the Buddha's conduct. O Sugata, because you possess wisdom, compassion, and skillful means, and because you have promised to liberate sentient beings. Therefore, just as in the island of wise jewels, for the groups of beings who are setting out, an agreeable city is arranged to eliminate fatigue. You guide this vehicle for disciples towards the state of peace, and you separately teach those who practice in secluded places. All the departed gather, and in the pure lands of the Buddhas, as many particles of dust as there are, so many are the shares of attaining the supreme enlightenment. However, your secret should not be proclaimed. O Victorious One, as long as all the worlds attain the utmost peace, beings no longer exist, and space no longer disintegrates, until then, you who are born from the mother of wisdom, with the heart of a loving mother, practice the Dharma, possessing the state of peace. The fault of ignorance causes the people of the world to eat poisonous food, how loving you are to your own family. Just like the suffering of a mother for her son who has mistakenly eaten poison, therefore, O Protector, you will not go towards the utmost peace. Because the unwise are attached to existence and non-existence, the suffering arising from birth and death, temporary dwelling, suffering and happiness, separation and meeting, and obtaining sinful states, therefore the world is deeply immersed in the realm of compassion. O Bhagavan, compassion turns your mind away from peace, therefore you do not have Nirvana. This reasoning is what the monk Chandrakirti extracted from the Madhyamaka treatises, and proclaimed as it is in the scriptures and instructions. Apart from here, how this Dharma does not exist in general, the way it appears here does not exist elsewhere either, the wise should ascertain thus. The ocean of wisdom of Nagarjuna, frightening because of its extremely vast color, the good path that beings follow.

Free from all stains, his words, Like water droplets opening the lotus, Now the one named Chandrakirti, Fulfills all those with connection. This profound and fearful Dharma has been explained, Only those who have practiced it in the past, Will surely understand this principle, though vast, Others will hardly grasp it in their hearts. Therefore, seeing these self-created principles, Claiming them as one's own doctrine and proclaiming them, Like the treatises, abandoning the views of other schools, May one generate a joyful heart towards this excellent Dharma. By expounding the excellent path of the Teacher Nagarjuna, may my merits pervade all directions, May the mind be free from afflictions, like the white stars of autumn, or like the jewel on the head of a mind-snake, Whatever one obtains, may all beings in the world realize this truth and swiftly enter the state of the Sugata. Introduction to the Middle Way, which clarifies the profound and vast meaning, the teacher Chandrakirti is diligent in the Great Vehicle. Possessing un-robbed wisdom and great compassion. By squeezing milk from a painted cow, he prevents attachment to reality, this commentary is complete. In the center of the incomparable city of Kashmir, In the temple where treasures are hidden, During the reign of the Kashmiri King, Glorious Holy God, The Indian Abbot Tilaka, And the Tibetan translator Bande Patsab Nyima Drak, translated according to the Kashmiri model. Later, in Lhasa Ramoche, the Indian Abbot Kanakavarma, And the translator himself, compared it with the eastern model of the sunlit region, carefully corrected it, and finalized it. Here, the author's inscription of the commentary is listed, And the common parts above the translation inscription. That is, the root verses are translated separately, and the root verses in the commentary are combined for proofreading. Title: Introduction to the Middle Way. By Chandrakirti.
