If it becomes an extreme of permanence or annihilation, it is like this: Whatever exists by its own nature, because it is non-existent, is permanent; saying that it existed before and does not exist now, therefore it will become annihilationism. Whoever says that something exists by its own nature, because its own nature does not change, it will never be non-existent; in this way, admitting that its own nature exists, it will become a view of permanence; in the state of previously existing, if one admits the own-nature of things, and then later it is destroyed, therefore admitting that it is non-existent, it will become a view of annihilation. If one thinks that the own-nature of things itself is unreasonable, then it will not become a view of permanence or annihilation, because the own-nature of things is not observed. If one admits that things are not self-existent, because there is no clinging to things, there is no view of permanence, but will it necessarily become a view of annihilation? It is not like that, it will not become a view of non-existence. It is like this, whoever previously admitted the own-nature of things, and later relies on its change, this is because denying the previously observed own-nature of things, it will become a view of non-existence; whoever, like the hairs seen by a person with cataracts, the cataracts disappear, and nothing is observed, and then says there is nothing, then what will be said to be non-existent? Because there is no object to be negated. In order to dispel the clinging to false appearances by those who are inverted, like those without cataracts, we say that all things are not existent, but by saying this, we will not become annihilationists. As it is said in the sutra: World Honored One, whoever previously borrowed desire, hatred, and ignorance as things, and later said that desire, hatred, and ignorance are not existent, that will also become an annihilationist, like this it is widely said. Whoever admits that the dependent mind and mental factors are things, therefore abandoning the view of permanence that the imputed nature does not exist, and because only the dependent phenomenon is the cause of defilement and purification, therefore abandoning the view of non-existence, according to this view, because the imputed is non-existent.

And, because of the existence of other's power, how can it be considered abandoning the two extremes, since it changes in both cases of viewing existence and non-existence? Since it has already been shown that what is produced by cause and condition cannot be a self-existent entity, this statement is unreasonable. Therefore, it should be known that only the view of the Madhyamikas does not fall into the fault of viewing existence and non-existence, while the views of the Vijnanavada and others do not. Therefore, in the "Ratnavali" it says: If someone says to those who claim that a person is an aggregate of skandhas, the Samkhya, the Nirgrantha, and the Uluka, about existence, non-existence, and transcendence of existence and non-existence, then ask them this. Therefore, the teaching of the Buddhas is beyond existence and non-existence, it is profound, it is the essence of Dharma. Because it is a method for seeing the ultimate truth. For those beings who need to be tamed, the Bhagavan, with great compassion, in his other-powered way, like treating many respected people, proclaimed the view of Vijnanavada, which is only to guide them, not the ultimate meaning. As it is said in the "Arya Samadhiraja Sutra": The Tathagata has spoken of emptiness, this is to distinguish the definitive and non-definitive sutras. All dharmas that speak of beings and persons should be known as non-definitive. This is explained in detail in the "Inexhaustible Intelligence Sutra" and other scriptures. Therefore, those noble ones who desire liberation, as long as there is an opportunity to cling to the two views of existence and non-existence, are still in samsara. Therefore, abandon these two views and cultivate the Madhyamika path as it is. The Bhagavan said: All is inconceivable, all is not produced, therefore destroy the knowledge of existence and non-existence. Those fools who are controlled by the mind will suffer in countless rebirths. Similarly, in countless eons of the past, I remember that a king of men appeared, he was a great sage who fulfilled the meaning of ships, and his name was Born from Non-Entity. As soon as he was born, he
