If it is not the destruction of something else, it is not birth, so this is the same as before. If the seed and the tree are different, therefore the birth of the tree is preceded by the destruction of something else, it is not right to think like that, because the cause and the effect have not been established as other entities. As it is said: What is relied upon, what arises, that is temporarily not that, that is also not other, therefore it is neither discontinuous nor permanent. It will be declared as such. Therefore, the seed and the tree are not other entities, therefore this is the same as what needs to be established. Because, for what is not the destruction of something else, there is also no birth here, therefore one should not accept that birth is prior. If old age and death are first and birth is later, even so, if birth is later, old age and death are first, old age and death without birth, how can it be without a cause? Because old age and death occur due to birth, the Blessed One said that old age and death are the cause and condition of birth, if this is prior, then at that time it will become without a cause. Therefore, this is unreasonable. From where does it start? Lifting the body, there is a cause for lifting, lifting and looking from the cause, the other is without falling. As it is said, just as lifting itself is the cause of falling, and not something else, here also, it should be said that birth itself is the cause of destruction, and not something else. Therefore, destruction is not without a cause. Because this is the cause and condition of birth, therefore the occurrence itself is the cause of destruction, therefore, thus the compounded dharmas, they arise with causes and conditions, whatever is born and then destroyed, this is the nature of all dharmas. This verse will also be well quoted. Now, in order to show that birth and old age and death do not occur simultaneously, birth and old age and death, cannot be simultaneous, while being born one will die, both will become without cause. As it is said, if birth and old age and death occur simultaneously, then at that time while being born one will die, this is not reasonable.

I am not, because like darkness and light, they contradict each other, so it is also unreasonable to be at the same time. That which is being born is called death, and such a thing has not been seen in the world. Furthermore, if one thinks that birth and so on arise simultaneously, then it will become causeless. Just as the left and right horns of a cow exist simultaneously, but it is not seen that they are the cause of each other, so this is unreasonable. Therefore, like that, for what has sequential order of before, after, and simultaneous, those sequential orders cannot exist. That birth, and that old age and death, for what reason do you rejoice? When that birth, for which there is no sequential order of before, after, and simultaneous, and that old age and death are not observed, for what reason do the noble ones rejoice? The word "for what reason" indicates impossibility, meaning that they do not rejoice at all. If old age and death are also not observed, then for what reason do you rejoice? They think that it is because they see things as they truly are. Or, if birth and so on do not exist in that way, then for what reason do children rejoice in that non-existent birth, and for what reason do they rejoice in that non-existent old age and death? Therefore, they think that the reason why children rejoice is that things do not exist. Just as samsara has no beginning, so it is said that other things are also like that. Not only does samsara have no beginning, but also cause and effect, nature and basis, feeling and the one who feels, whatever meaningful things there are, all things also have no beginning. If the cause is before and the effect is after, then the cause without the effect will become causeless. However, if the effect is before and the cause is after, then even so, the effect that is earlier than the cause will become causeless. If the cause and effect occur simultaneously, then even so, both will become causeless. Similarly, nature and the basis, feeling and the one who feels, should also be applied in the same way. Explaining the cause of samsara is not only for explaining cause and effect, etc., but also other things.
