Now, such a statement as "it is self" is unreasonable, because that would lead to the agent and the action being one and the same. The grasping is not another grasping, nor is another grasping the grasper, because that would also lead to the self being regarded as different from the aggregates, and would lead to faults such as not depending on others. Since oneness and otherness are precluded, the self is also not in conjunction with the aggregates. Since there is no otherness, it is unreasonable for the self to possess the aggregates, and for the aggregates to possess the self. Because it is unreasonable for the self to exist in five ways like this, therefore, just as with action and agent, the self and grasping are established in being mutually dependent. What is the order of the self and grasping? That is not just those two, but what is it? "Together with pot, cloth, etc." It is said, and it should be understood that all things are to be explained in all ways together. The pot and so on can be cause and effect, or part and whole, or definition and defined, or attribute and possessor of attribute. Among these, clay, stick, wheel, rope, water, and the labor of the potter's hand, etc., are the cause of the pot, and the pot is the effect. Fragments, etc., or blue, etc., are the part, and the pot is the whole. A wide belly, a drooping edge, an open mouth, and a long neck, etc., are the definition, and the pot is the defined. Blueness, etc., are the attribute, and the pot is the possessor of attribute, and when distinguishing in this way, it should also be combined sequentially like fire and firewood. The explanation of the pot and so on, and the self and grasping, should be ascertained from the Madhyamakavatara. Therefore, just as with action and agent, the self and grasping, and the pot and so on, are established as being mutually dependent, and by merely presuming that it is the non-inverted meaning of the Tathagata's teachings, the meaning conjectured by the tenets of other schools

Distinguishing and establishing. From the scriptures of the Sugata, grasping the meaning that is understood, with an extremely foolish mind, those who show me and things as having that nature and as being different, they are not considered by the teacher to be skilled in the doctrine. Because it exists together with it, it is having that nature. The nature of the thing that has that nature is having that nature, the meaning is not different, not self and other, and oneness. Those who say that it has that nature, the teacher does not consider them to be skilled in the doctrine. For example, the grasping that grasps as me with what kind of grasping, it exists together with it, becoming not separate, and is not different, this is the meaning of the sentence. Similarly, the cause that grasps as a vase with the cause such as clay, is not different from it, it is not separate, like that, those who say that I and things have that nature, they have not seen the extremely profound dependent arising, free from permanence and annihilation, and the suchness of the name that depends on the establishment. Those who say that I am also other, grasping is also other, the result is also other, the cause is also other, etc., each showing as each, and seeing otherness, the teacher does not consider them to be skilled in the doctrine. As it is said: The traveler is like a reflection of the moon in water, free from oneness and otherness, free from transfer and destruction, you should know it without blemish. Thus, the yogi, with the metaphor of fire and firewood, the body that understands the suchness of the Dharma, will not be burned by the fire of the final kalpa, or the fire of afflictions, attachment, hatred, and ignorance. As the Blessed One said: Even if burned for hundreds of thousands of millions of kalpas, the sky has never been burned in the past, thus knowing that all dharmas are like the sky, even if he enters the fire, he will not be burned. If all Buddha lands are burning, may all these flames be extinguished, from the state of meditation, making this wish, even if the earth is destroyed, there will be no change in it. Like that. Like drilling wood and drilling
