will change. Therefore, it is not reasonable to accept what is refuted. It is enough to elaborate a little. Therefore, in this way, when the Blessed One clearly reveals that the arising of things depends on causes and conditions, then things will prevent the absence of cause, and the single cause, and arising from dissimilar causes, and being made by oneself, others, and both. By preventing these, it will be possible to truly explain how all worldly things abide in their own worldly nature. Now, because the conventional dependent arising itself is without inherent existence, therefore, relying on the wisdom of the noble ones, for this dependent arising, from "there is no cessation" to "there is no single meaning," it is distinguished by eight distinctions such as no cessation. Because of cessation, there is cessation, cessation refers to momentary destruction. Because of arising, there is arising, which means becoming one's own self. Because of severance, there is severance, which means the continuity is severed. Because of permanence, there is permanence, which means existing at all times. Because of coming, there is coming, which means things that dwell in distant places come to a nearby place. Because of going, there is going, which means things that dwell in a nearby place go to a distant place. The different meaning refers to different meanings, which is a synonym for each different meaning. Meaning is also it, and one is also it, so meaning is one, which is a synonym for meaning not being different and not being each different. How dependent arising has no cessation, etc., all treatises will explain in this way. Although dependent arising has infinite differences, only eight are established, because these are the main parts of the debate. If the noble ones truly see how dependent arising abides, they will dispel all kinds of elaborations such as what is said and what can be said, and characteristics and what is interpreted. Here, because elaborations are pacified, therefore dependent arising itself is called the pacification of elaborations. For this dependent arising, there is also no object of mind and mental factors, and knowledge and

Because it is free from all harm such as birth, aging, sickness, and death by refuting worldly terms, it is peaceful. As shown, the dependent arising with its special qualities is taught as the gateway to what should be taught, because it is a supreme desire. By what is dependent arising? Cessation is without cessation, birth is without birth. Cessation of severance, cessation of permanence. Cessation of coming, cessation of going. Not different, not the same. Pacified expanse, teaching peace. To the supreme of those who speak of perfect Buddhas, I pay homage. That is it. In order to understand the dependent arising as taught, seeing that the sole Tathagata speaks the meaning without inversion, and understanding that all the speech of others is like the babbling of children. Then, because the teacher became very faithful, he again praised the Bhagavan, saying: He is the supreme of speakers. Here, the previous cessation of cessation is to show that there is no prior or subsequent arrangement for birth and cessation. If birth comes first and old age and death come later, then it would become without birth, old age, and death, and there would be birth even before death. It will be explained in this way. Therefore, there is no certainty that birth comes first and old age and death come later. Now, the teacher wants to show that dependent arising has become special because of cessation, etc., thinking that because birth has been stopped, it will be easy to stop cessation, etc., so he first composes the stopping of birth. Birth also, if analyzed by others, one would think that it arises from self, or from other, or from both, or from no cause. Having decided that it is not reasonable in all cases, he then says: Not from self, not from other. Not from both, not from no cause. Whatever things, wherever. Birth never exists. Among them, the word "whatever" (Tibetan: གང་དག་) is a word of reliance, a synonym for the word "which ones" (Tibetan: སུ་དག་). The word "wherever" (Tibetan: གང་ན་ཡང་) is a word of dependence, a synonym for the word "somewhere" (Tibetan: འགའ་ཞིག་ན་ཡང་). "Never" (Tibetan: ནམ་ཡང་) is a synonym for the word "also" (Tibetan: གཞན་ཡང་). Therefore, from myself, whatever things, wherever, birth never exists.
