Just as it does not belong to any category, the self-nature of the completely imputed also does not belong to the five dharmas such as cause, therefore, it is said that it is without self-nature by the very absence of self-nature. If so, if the self-nature of the completely imputed is without self-nature by the very absence of self-nature, then how does it become all afflictions? Therefore, it is said that "although it does not exist as such, it becomes all afflictions from the attachment to name and meaning." Name refers to the sound expressing form, etc., expressing pot, etc., and expressing person, etc. Meaning is form, etc., pot, etc., and person, etc. The attachment to name and meaning is that the sound of form, etc., expresses form, etc., the sound of pot, etc., expresses pot, etc., and the sound of person, etc., expresses person, etc. Becoming all afflictions from the attachment to name and meaning means that the name of the completely imputed suddenly attaches to the meaning of dependence and adds to it, therefore, because of the manifestation of attachment to the name of the completely imputed to the meaning of dependence, children become all afflictions. If so, how does it become all afflictions? Therefore, it is said, "If children attach to name and meaning, how do they attach to its self-nature?" Just as the name of the completely imputed suddenly adds to and attaches to the meaning of dependence, similarly, children attach to the self-nature of dependence, saying, "This is form, etc., this is pot, etc., this is person, etc." From that gateway of the completely imputed self-nature, children become all afflictions, so it is said. Yogis say that the self-nature of the completely imputed, its absence of self-nature, and the way it becomes all afflictions. To this, the Madhyamikas explain here, that if the self-nature of the completely imputed, which is called "form" in mind and speech, does not exist, then for things

This is to blame, saying that it is because of blaming what is said in the mind and what is said in speech. This shows that what the Yogacharas say, that the nature of the completely imputed is without nature by its very nature, if for things like form, the discriminations said in the mind and the completely imputed nature of the designation in speech are without nature by their very nature, then it is to slander the dependent nature in the mundane, which is not right. Why? Because the discriminations said in the mind belong to the aggregate of consciousness, and the designation in speech belongs to the aggregate of formations, so these two are dependent entities, so they cannot be slandered in the mundane. In this way, what the Yogacharas say in their minds and in their speech, that the completely imputed nature is without nature by its very nature in the mundane, would become a slander of the dependent entity in the mundane, so this is not reasonable. If anyone says that the meaning of these two, that is, the completely imputed, does not exist, like a snake on a rope, then the completely imputed does not not exist, because there, due to the similarity of shape, wisdom is confused, although the meaning of the completely imputed does not exist, in name, the snake is coiled there, it is not that it does not exist. Therefore, what the Yogacharas say, that the completely imputed nature is without nature by its very nature, if any child says that the meaning of these two, what is said in the mind and what is said in speech, that is, the fabricated completely imputed, is without nature by its very nature, like the completely imputed of a snake fabricated on a rope does not exist, then this shows that in the mundane, the completely imputed is not without nature by its very nature, so it is not right. Why? Because on that rope, when the sky is clear,

Because the shape resembles a coiled snake, foolish children all think that the coiled thing is a snake with deadly poison, although this thought is meaningless. However, in conventional truth, apart from the rope, on the coiled thing itself, the thought that the coiled thing is a snake with deadly poison is not non-existent. Therefore, the meaning of what yogis say in their minds and what they say in words, whatever is the nature of the completely imputed, in conventional truth, it is said to be without nature due to the very absence of nature. If it is said that in conventional truth, the nature of the completely imputed cannot be established as without nature due to the very absence of nature, then this is also unreasonable. If it is said that even in conventional truth, there is no snake on the coiled thing, then there will be the fault of contradicting fame. Because in conventional truth, there is not no snake on the coiled thing, yogis want to eliminate the fault that the nature of the completely imputed cannot be established as without nature due to the very absence of nature. If it is said that even in conventional truth, there is no snake on the coiled thing, then it will show the fault of contradicting fame, which is not permissible. Why? Because in conventional truth, there is no snake on the rope, but there is a snake on the coiled thing itself, which is known to the world. Therefore, because in conventional truth, there is not no snake on the coiled thing, yogis want to eliminate the fault that the nature of the completely imputed cannot be established as without nature due to the very absence of nature. If it is said that even in conventional truth, there is no snake on the coiled thing, then there will be the fault of contradicting fame, which is also unreasonable. If it is said that in ultimate truth, one eliminates things, this is following the view of the Madhyamaka school, because in ultimate truth, the snake is not substantially existent, nor does it arise from its own nature.
