The maker said: Since it has been promised that any external and internal object cannot be other together with any external and internal object, therefore, the goer from other than oneself, is not what makes the going possible. The meaning of "because the example is not established either" is: because your example of the goer from other than oneself making the going possible is not established either. The teacher thinks that the goer from other than oneself is not what makes the going possible. How is the example not established? Your goer from other than oneself is what makes the going possible, because it is a goer, thus everything is made to be on the side of the goer, therefore there is no other example to rely on. Whatever, by what going does it appear as a goer? That other than that is not going. This is considered to be a statement close to the vow, which is a brief instruction, that is, the proposition. If one asks why, it means: if the opponent asks why. The answer to that question is: because for the sole goer, it is not appropriate to have two goings. Thus it was said. That is the detailed explanation, that is, the dharma of the proposition. Therefore, the latter half of the sentence indicates that the establishing dharma of the goer from other than oneself not making the going possible, is because it does not possess two goings. Here, the inference is that in order to prove that the goer from other than oneself is not what makes the going possible, here the inference, that is, the words of the statement possessing reason and example, will be connected below with the subject and the dharma to be proven, and the establishing dharma and the example. Ultimately, going from other than oneself is not making the goer go, because it does not possess two goings. For example, like a stayer. This is considered to be the subject and the dharma to be proven, and the establishing dharma and the example, connected in order. For example, like a stayer not possessing two goings, therefore it is not making the goer go.

Just as it is not so, the goer from other than oneself, also because it does not possess two goings, therefore the goer does not go. Others say: Because the goer is only one, therefore two goings are not reasonable. Because the goer is only one, by what does it appear as the goer and become the goer, and the two goings that will be gone are not reasonable, therefore the going other than that is also not what the goer goes. This is the explanation of the latter half of the verse. The commentator, Sthavira Buddhapālita, says that it should be explained in this way. Some say: That is not reasonable. The commentator himself, assuming the name "some people", is to prove that Buddhapālita's explanation is unreasonable. Why is it unreasonable? Because it is admitted that there is only one cause of going, therefore, in order to prove that it possesses this cause, the goer goes. After saying, "Because the goer is only one, therefore two goings are not reasonable," what meaning will be understood? If it is said that the goer is only one, there should not be two causes of going, then because it is admitted that there is only one cause of going, therefore, in order to prove that it possesses the only cause of going, the goer goes, therefore this is not reasonable. Furthermore, because otherness is not negated, it is also not reasonable. Because the goer that the opponent admits does not negate otherness from going. Furthermore, "How can it be reasonable to say that the goer goes for a while?" This is no different from before. Buddhapālita's explanation said before: "How can it be reasonable to say that the goer goes for a while? If there is no going, the goer will never be reasonable." Because this is no different from what was said before, the commentator says that it is unreasonable. The flesh-eaters said: Going is only one, that is another goer, and because it possesses that cause, therefore going
