If you wish to postulate aggregates such as feelings as mind, then you will follow the words of others and abandon your own tenets. That is, you would acknowledge that aggregates such as feelings, mind, touch, and attention are like a quiver full of arrows, or like aggregates of earth, water, fire, and wind, or like a vase with form, smell, taste, and touch, and postulate them as mind. If you insist on this, then you will be following the views of other Madhyamikas and abandoning your own tenets, because you have already acknowledged that from the single Alaya-vijnana, according to different conditions, arise the five aggregates and the various changes of mental factors. If you think that if aggregates such as feelings are postulated as mind, then mind will no longer be real, and therefore the basis of all afflictions and purification will cease to exist. On the contrary, feelings and other independent entities each exist as real, so they should be the place of afflictions and purification. As it is said in the sutra: 'The realm that has existed since beginningless time is the seed of all dharmas; because of it, all beings and the attainment of Nirvana occur.' If you think so, then what is said here is: If you think that mind is real, then feelings and so on will arise in the same way, so this does not cause any harm. That is, afflictions and related attention, etc., are considered to be bound states that arise simultaneously with the mind. When free from afflictions, the state corresponding to wisdom is considered to be the state of liberation simultaneously with the mind. Therefore, the different states of mind and other mental factors are postulated based on the mind. If the mind is unique, then there is no mutually independent real existence between the mind and mental factors. Therefore, feelings and so on arise in the form of bondage and liberation, because they arise from aggregates, so the mind and mental factors are the nature of aggregates, which is the best.

Since it is established, your perception that the mind is real does not harm us. If that is the case, since the mind is of the nature of aggregation and therefore not real, how can one obtain the continuity of existence and liberation from it? Therefore, it is said: Like the lotus root, possessing much power, like leaves, etc., the continuity arises. Likewise, from the mind not being real, various continuities arise. This means that the lotus root refers to the root of the lotus. Even without other root connections, it possesses many powers, just as in a vast lake, the continuity of leaves and flowers, etc., universally arises. Similarly, even if the mind is not real, the distinctions of the continuity of samsara of sentient beings, the realms, and various appearances will arise. Those distinctions of continuity will not arise from the opponent, but if there is an agent, they will arise. This means that the opponent refers to the Noble Eightfold Path. When it arises, the continuities will not arise, but if there is an agent, namely afflictions, they will arise. Alternatively, from the root consciousness of the five, they arise like a continuum. What you said, even without the root consciousness, since the mind is of the nature of aggregation, if there is an opponent that is incompatible with the cause, it will not arise, but if there are causes such as form, sound, space, and attention as the agent, it will arise. From this, various births, etc., we do not wish to impute, because it is not real. This means that from your completely transformed consciousness, just as the various births, etc., of the three, namely maturation, pride, and consciousness, are imputed, we do not wish for that. Why? Because the mind is not real. In this way, we do not wish to impute those from the distinctions of the state of mind. Furthermore, by focusing on that, one is not liberated, and unobstructed wisdom is also not present. Therefore, in conventional and ultimate truth, it is not similar to speaking of self. This means that 'focusing on that' refers to
