Because there is no object to be grasped, the six aspects of the perceiving consciousness do not arise observingly, but arise extremely. As long as the Alaya consciousness does not abide in the nature of its own mind, which is called the discriminated, and abides in the object of perception, the predispositions of what is grasped will not revert. Because the seeds of seeing characteristics have not been abandoned, the predispositions of the two graspers will not be abandoned. When the objects of perception such as form are not observed as external objects outside of the mind, then one will necessarily abide in one's own nature. Because the transformation has cleared away all obscurations, and because of the mastery over all dharmas, one obtains the nature of non-discrimination. That which is called "only consciousness" is the wisdom of the Tathagata, which is non-discriminating towards all things. If one cannot fully understand the three natures, one cannot realize it. Therefore, it is said: The discriminated has no object of perception, the other-powered is also without grasping, seeing that is the perfected, it is to observe the self-nature. The three natures of the discriminated, the other-powered, and the perfected are all included in the Alaya consciousness. For it, the discriminating thoughts that are distinct by the differences of disease and external objects, whatever objects between form and enlightenment are discriminated, are not truly existent. Because one falsely establishes non-existent things, it is the discriminated, this is the nature of the discriminated. The mind and mental factors that arise within the three realms are not real, all discriminated, distinguished by differences such as good, because they are generated and controlled by others, therefore it is other-powered. Or, because it controls what is generated by others, it is other-powered. The discriminated and the perfected arise from its basis as the discriminated and the perfected, this is the nature of the other-powered. The other-powered itself is that which is free from the nature of the grasped and the grasper, that is the nature of the perfected. It is neither one with the other-powered, nor is it different. If it becomes different, then the dharma nature will become different. What?
