Thus it is said. All dharmas are abandoned and unestablished, the nature of dharma is such as it is. Because of that, he has passed away in such a way, therefore he is called Tathagata. All that is to be realized is completely and firmly exhausted, and all extremes are completely abandoned. By realizing in a way that is without realization, he is Sugata because he has gone to bliss. Possessing countless accumulations of merit, and knowing the infinite knowable, the Dharmakaya of the Buddhas is the peace of cessation of elaboration. Here, even words are transformed, this is not the conduct of the mind. Here, even all conceptualizations are transformed, and consciousness does not enter into it. Here, the scripture is from the Sutra of the Seal of Noble Primordial Wisdom: "That body is not a body and is completely liberated from the body. The body is neither destroyed nor found. Where are all the dharmas, neither together nor not together? The body of the Sugatas is thus designated. There is no coming together, no separation, no place, and no substance. Not grasping, not liberated, without deterioration, and without near or far. Without effort, without obstruction, and without dwelling in anything. The body of the Sugatas is thus shown." And so on. Also, from that very same text: "That is without a body, unmade, unborn, unceasing, unarisen, without action, the ripening is unseen, unheard, unknowable," and so on, spoken in two hundred and eighty verses. Also, from the Great Mother Sutra: "Remembrance of the Buddha is without remembrance and without attention," and so on. Also, from the Sutra of the Accomplishment of the Noble Limitless Door: "There, one meditates only on the remembrance of the Buddha, not by form, not by characteristics, not by marks, not by qualities, not by dharma, and not by what is not dharma," and so on. Also, from the chapter on the Tathagata: "Seeing the Tathagata is seeing emptiness, signlessness, wishlessness, birthlessness, cessationlessness, arisinglessness, thinglessness, and non-fabrication." Thus it is said. Also, from the Sutra Requested by Noble Inexhaustible Intelligence: "What is the remembrance of the Buddha? It is not distinguished by form and characteristics, and it is not birth.

I, not distinguished by lineage and time, not distinguished by previous pure conduct, not distinguished by later fully moistened wisdom, not distinguished by the place where it now appears, what is it? It is not the basis of all obscurations, not the cause of arising of all characteristics, what is it that all discriminations, various discriminations, and complete discriminations are pacified? Thus it is said. Similarly, it should also be read in the Sutra of the Holy Buddha Abiding Manifestly Now and the Great Sutra of the Holy Recollection of the Buddha, etc. Said: In that case, how can it not become merely pacified in one place by abandoning compassion? With three causes and one condition, the complete form body and conventional appearance will not become like that, because it is the nature of non-abiding nirvana. How is it? In the manner of the three bodies. The distinct establishment of the three bodies is also, in the presence of the teacher himself, as it is said: As it is said, in the Sutra of the Mind of Complete Enlightenment in the Palace of Akanishta, it is also said: The body of the Tathagata is the nature of wisdom, like a wish-fulfilling jewel and a wish-fulfilling tree, possessing various powers, like this, spontaneous wisdom knows the equality of all dharmas in a single instant, it is certain to arise from the accumulation of immeasurable merit and wisdom for countless eons, like a wish-fulfilling jewel with various forms, without discrimination, free from all elaborations, having abandoned the two obscurations, for the sake of benefiting all, it is manifestly accomplished together with the nature body of transformation. The body of the Tathagata is non-discriminating, in addition to that, by the power of the aspiration of completely practicing the precepts of accomplishing benefit, the emanation body benefits all, in hundreds of thousands of billions of Jambudvipa, first residing in the Tushita Palace, then descending, entering the womb, being born, playing as a youth, residing among the retinue of consorts, and renouncing.
