Again, it is like the consciousness of the eye. Similarly, its object, suchness, is also deceptive and not just that, because it is an object, like form. If it is said that the ultimate truth is not conceivable in the sutras and is not the object of conceptual activity, therefore it is not to be shown by inference, then, it is not so, because the power of inference in accordance with the scriptures accomplishes the non-conceptual wisdom that prevents all conceptualizations, so although the ultimate truth is not the object of inference, that is not the main thing, because there is no other proof to examine what is correct and what is not, so that is not reasonable. A detailed analysis will be done together with the Yogacharas in the chapter on entering into suchness in the Essence of Madhyamaka. Incidentally, this is just to show those who are diligent a little bit of the aspect of discerning what is reasonable and unreasonable together with their own schools. Here, the meaning of the debate is to show that nirvana is without self-nature by refuting the faults of the arguments first put forward by the opponents. Therefore, it is said: Nirvana has no nirvana, the protector of the world taught, like untying a knot in the sky, the sky itself can be liberated. Similarly, Blessed One, those who think that some phenomena arise or cease, they do not have the appearance of the Buddha. Blessed One, those who seek nirvana from things, they do not have true liberation from samsara. Why is that? Blessed One, whatever is the complete pacification of all signs and the complete cessation of all movements, that is nirvana. Blessed One, those foolish people who seek nirvana from things, they, having renounced in this well-spoken Dharma-Vinaya, will fall into the views of the tirthikas. Blessed One, if someone thinks that all dharmas are completely extinguished, for example, if we take the example of sesame oil extracted from sesame seeds, and butter extracted from milk, nirvana is also like

Those who seek everywhere, I say that they are particularly arrogant among the non-Buddhists. The Blessed One, one who has rightly entered into the practice of yoga, does not cause any dharma to arise or cease, nor does he seek to obtain any dharma, nor does he seek to realize it, and so on. Similarly, Subhuti, nirvana is also like an illusion, like a dream, and is extensively taught. Similarly, Sharadvatiputra, those who seek nirvana entirely from things are confused, and I am not their teacher, nor are they my hearers, and so on. Similarly, if one conceptually constructs with intelligence, then there is no examination and no other-dependence. If there is no established entity, how can one conceptually examine with intelligence? The entity itself does not exist, and there is no consciousness, and the alaya also does not exist. Like a corpse, foolish children conceptually examine them. Those things that were spoken are established. By the teacher Lekdenje, in the commentary on the Root Verses on the Middle Way, the Lamp of Wisdom, called Examination of Nirvana, which is the twenty-fifth chapter. The Lamp of Wisdom, commentary on the Root Verses on the Middle Way, the twentieth fascicle, which is the last. It is in that way, by negating the distinctions of the side that is contrary to emptiness, that the twenty-sixth chapter is composed, by the power of the meaning of showing dependent arising in conventional terms. Here it is said: Immediately after you have completed the chapter, you say, "The Buddha has not taught any dharma to anyone, anywhere." What is said is: The dependent arising taught by the Blessed One, which causes all the herds of deer of the non-Buddhists to scatter, which pacifies the faults of wrong views, because of understanding these, the Blessed One is renowned in the world as the Buddha, therefore you want to refute it, so you say, "The Buddha has not taught any dharma to anyone, anywhere." Therefore, making that promise will cause harm. Therefore it is said: Because of being obscured by ignorance, for the sake of rebirth, the three aspects of actions manifestly gather.

Whatever the actions may be, one transmigrates through those actions. And so on. Here, ignorance means: the dharma that is contrary to wisdom, or the twelve links of dependent origination, because one does not understand selflessness, impermanence, and momentary arising and ceasing, therefore it is ignorance. "Obscured by it" means covered. Here, it must be determined that "ignorance obscures, then does not act," only in this way can one understand "actions manifest and create, not obscured, then does not act." One should not determine that "ignorance obscures, then only actions," because the remaining links such as consciousness also have that cause. Nor should one determine that "only ignorance obscures," because there are also other afflictions. The cause of actions, afflictions such as desire are also causes, but taking wisdom is the main thing, just like a king conquering and a conch shell not sounding. If someone thinks that unwholesome actions arise from the cause of ignorance, because delusion is unwholesome, then how should wholesome actions be explained? Just like being accompanied by ignorance, desiring to enjoy happiness by playing with goddesses in the heavenly palace, and practicing wholesome dharma, ignorance is also a cause in the continuum. Samsara is ultimately unwholesome, therefore the wholesomeness that arises from it is also unwholesome, so ignorance is the cause of manifestation and creation, there is no fault. "Re-existence" means existence, the continuous connection of cause and effect, so it will arise again, it is a synonym for "re-birth." "For re-existence" means for the sake of re-existence. "Actions" means actions manifest and create. "Three types" refers to the differences of merit, non-merit, and immovability, or the differences of actions of body, speech, and mind. "The one who manifests and creates" refers to the differences of small, medium, and large merit, etc. By those actions.
