Because the meaning of two does not exist. If it is said that what appears as two moons is mind, then, because it is not substantially existent, it is not established, for example, there is the fault of the dharma to be established not being complete. If the consciousness of form shows emptiness, the meaning of what is called form, then, in the example, there is the fault of the dharma to be established not being complete. Because the mind that sees two moons does not arise without relying on an external object, it is not established. Furthermore, the consciousness that wants to speak is not the same as that which appears as the form of the consciousness of form, which is the condition of the object, because it has the condition of the eye, for example, just as it appears as its own self-nature, so in name it is also because it slanders the condition of the object, so it contradicts the limit of what has been done. Because consciousness necessarily exists by its own nature, if there is a cause, it is unreasonable not to see, so it is not established without an object. If someone thinks like this: Relying on the object, non-object arises, relying on non-object, non-object arises. Saying this is without fault, then the answer to that view has already been said, if only the arising of consciousness is completely established, then it also becomes something established, because it is not completely established. Even if it exists, how can there be no consciousness? That question remains the same. If it is said that because there is no birth, it is meaningless, then this is exactly following the words of the Madhyamaka school. Furthermore, even if consciousness has been accepted, if you want to completely abandon it, then like this, washing with mud, it is better to keep a distance. Just as the observation of selflessness is carried out on meaning, consciousness can also be understood as selflessness and unborn. First, one should meditate on the object of external objects, and then gradually meditate on the object of consciousness and wisdom, then only through the sequence can one achieve the realization of selflessness, so there is no need to be stingy about meditating simultaneously from the beginning. Therefore, it is unreasonable not to see such a comprehensive observation and the freedom of others.

Therefore, all attachments cannot attain quiescence. Similarly, what is "Pariniṣpanna-svabhāva"? If it is said to be the suchness of all dharmas, then, if those dharmas themselves are not established in the ultimate sense, then the dharmata of those dharmas is also unreasonable, isn't it? If it is said that in conventional terms, things that arise with a dream-like nature are not truly existent in that way in the ultimate sense, and this is the suchness of all dharmas, then this is only established as being without inherent origination, and therefore it is in accordance with the Madhyamaka's statement. If someone thinks that the Pariniṣpanna-svabhāva is not non-existent, but rather the characteristic of a non-dual entity, as it is said: "Both are non-existent entities, the nature of emptiness of entities." If you say so, then, here again, by what reason is it non-dual? If it is said that it is established through "Depending on the object, non-object arises; depending on non-object, non-object arises," then the answer to that aspect has already been given. If the negation of "non-duality" is meant to negate non-existence, then merely negating non-duality exhausts its power, because it does not become a fault of non-existence, so negation is primary, because it is not non-existent in the ultimate sense, so it is unreasonable to assert like this, "It is a non-dual entity." If it is not meant to negate non-existence, then, because the establishment is primary, it will show non-existent things, which is undesirable, because it is the extreme of defamation. The absence of a rabbit's horn is also not a non-existent thing, like this, if the non-existent thing is the same as the ultimate, then the view of annihilation will be established. Then, what is its perfectly pure object like? If it is said to be by nature of non-discrimination, then the wisdom with an object is not called non-discrimination, although it does not discriminate "this is this," but because the object appears, like eye consciousness, therefore the sutra says, what is the ultimate truth? That which wisdom cannot enter, what need is there to mention letters? And "that which is unseen is it."

And it also contradicts statements such as "not seeing" and "the enlightenment of the Buddhas is without object." Because what is to be realized is unborn, so is knowledge also unborn. Therefore, non-entry is established. The Blessed One said that all phenomena are comprehended by the wisdom that is not different from what is to be known, and that is also established. Therefore, it is best to rely correctly on the way of speaking of the Madhyamikas. If someone thinks, for example, that when a rope is coiled, if one perceives it as a snake, and if one realizes the nature of the rope, the fear of the snake will be calmed, similarly, seeing suchness will calm afflictions, so one should only focus on the realm of phenomena. Then, just as when the thought of a snake arises on a coiled rope, fear arises because of wrong knowledge; if that thought does not arise, there is no fear because of correct knowledge. If an imbalance arises, it becomes a disease; if it does not arise, there will be no suffering. Therefore, one should not desire the arising of wisdom that focuses on suchness. The fact that things are not established in any way is the suchness of things. Because it does not approach the object of the object in any way, it is not reasonable to be an object of focus. Therefore, Manjushri, the youth, praised the Blessed One, saying: "Buddha has no characteristic of space. Characteristics and non-characteristics are definitely liberated. I prostrate to you who are without object." etc. If someone thinks, if the Tathagata does not focus on the realm of phenomena, how did he become enlightened by understanding it? Because all phenomena are not established in any way, the field of activity of the all-knowing is called suchness. He became enlightened by comprehending the realm of phenomena, which is the knowable, suchness, the field of activity, and the unborn wisdom. As it is said, "The enlightenment of the Tathagatas is distinguished by non-realization." The wisdom that focuses on suchness should not be the object of ultimate activity, because it is conditioned.
