Continuity is also reasonable. Explanation: If at the time of cessation, at the time of arising, even conjunction does not exist, then which skandha will die, and there also arising will occur. The word "also" in "even conjunction" includes the meaning of both the cessation and non-cessation of the final existence. If the final existence at the time of cessation does not have conjunction with the initial existence at the time of arising, and even the final existence has ceased, it also does not have conjunction with the initial existence, just as the final existence has ceased, it also does not have conjunction with the initial existence. If it is said that the arising of the initial existence exists, then, which skandhas alone will die, those skandhas alone will also arise, because other arisings are unreasonable. That is also undesirable, therefore, apart from those three, existence arising is unreasonable. Like this, even in the three times, if the continuity of existence is unreasonable, then what does not exist in the three times, how can that be the continuity of existence? Therefore, having completely examined it in this way, the cessation and non-cessation of the final existence, and the time of cessation, are unreasonable to have conjunction with the initial existence, therefore in the three times, the continuity of existence is unreasonable. In the three times, the continuity of existence that does not exist, how can that be reasonably considered the continuity of existence? If the continuity of existence does not exist, then how can arising and destruction exist? If arising and destruction do not exist, then how can your time and so on be established? The examination of arising and destruction is called the twenty-first chapter. Said: The continuity of existence certainly exists, why? Because the Tathagata exists. The Tathagata is the Bhagavan, Arhat, perfectly complete Buddha, who exists. He has accomplished perfect Bodhi through countless kalpas. Like that, in other sutras it is also said: At that time, at that moment, I became a Brahmin boy named Fair Eyes. At that time, at that moment, I became a king named I-milk. Having said this, if there is no continuity of existence, that is unreasonable, therefore, the continuity of existence certainly exists. Explanation: If the Tathagata

If this is valid, then the continuity of existence will also exist. Since the Tathagata himself is not established, how could his continuity of existence exist? How so? If here it is assumed that there is something called "Tathagata," then, is it the aggregates themselves? Or is it something other than the aggregates? To this: Not the body, nor other than the body. In that, there is no body, therefore there is none in it. The Tathagata is not one who possesses a body. What is the Tathagata? For the moment, the aggregates themselves are not the Tathagata. Why? Because the aggregates are of the nature of arising and ceasing, therefore the Tathagata would become impermanent, and the taker and the taken should not be the same. The Tathagata other than the aggregates, is also not in another dharma without aggregates. Why? Because a dharma different from the impermanent aggregates would become permanent, and if it were other, it should be able to be grasped. Because there is nothing to be grasped, therefore the Tathagata is also not from other than the aggregates. The aggregates for the Tathagata are not like a forest of trees on a snowy mountain. Why? Because the dependent and the depended are not other, so it will become impermanent. The Tathagata for the aggregates is also not like a lion in a forest of trees. Why? Because the fault has been pointed out immediately. The Tathagata is not like possessing the essence of aggregates and trees. Why? Because it is not from other than the aggregates, so it will become the fault of impermanence. Thus, if one searches in five ways, the Tathagata does not exist in near attainment. What is that Tathagata that you speak of, which is completely examined by what kind of continuity of existence? Answer: Should I say that the aggregates themselves are the Tathagata, or the Tathagata other than the aggregates? Why do you impose on me the fault of becoming permanent or impermanent? I rely on the aggregates to say the Tathagata
