If one thinks, 'If this self of mine exists, then what faults will arise?' To that, it should be explained: If whatever occurred in previous lifetimes is indeed this present self, then, since the aggregates are not different, they would also become different, and it would also follow that there is a self apart from the aggregates. Then, apart from the aggregates, what is your self? Can you say? I know that in every way it is unreasonable. If one thinks that there is no self apart from the aggregates, then, therefore, either the aggregates themselves become the self, or your self does not exist. The assertion that the aggregates themselves are the self is also unreasonable. Why? Because the aggregates are subject to arising and ceasing, so they will arise and cease, and that is not the characteristic of a self. Furthermore, how could whatever is an aggregate be the one who takes the aggregates? Because many faults would follow. If one thinks that the one who takes the aggregates is different from the aggregates, then, to that, it should be explained: It is not reasonable that the self is different from the aggregates. Why? If it were different, then even without the aggregates, it should be perceptible by the sense faculties such as the eyes, but it is not perceptible. Therefore, the self is neither different from the aggregates, nor is it the aggregates themselves, nor is it without the aggregates, nor is it determined to be nothing at all. Therefore, by this analysis, it is unreasonable to say that the self existed in the past. Now, it is also unreasonable to say that it did not exist in the past. Whatever occurred in previous lifetimes is not different from this. If this were different, then it would arise without it. Similarly, it would change its place, and it would be born without dying there. Precepts and actions would be wasted, and the actions done by others would be experienced separately by others, and so forth would follow. It does not arise from what has not arisen, and this would lead to faults. The self is something made.

And it will become causeless. Now, saying that I did not arise in the past is also unreasonable. Why? Because what arose in the past is not other than this. If this were other, then because that is gone, this would also arise. Furthermore, the former would remain as it is, and this would be born there without dying. Thus, there would be annihilation and wasted actions, and others would experience the actions done by others, and so on, with many faults. Furthermore, in that case, it would follow that I arise from not arising, because it is impossible for me to arise from not arising. Therefore, for this, it would also become that I am the creator, and the fault of arising becoming causeless, which is undesirable. Therefore, with this analysis, saying that I did not arise in the past is also unreasonable. Therefore, I arose and I did not arise, neither is neither, whatever view there is of the past, those are not reasonable. Thus, if fully analyzed, saying that the past has arisen, and saying that I did not arise in the past, and saying that the past has arisen and has arisen, and has not arisen and has not arisen, and saying that the past has neither arisen nor not arisen, whatever view there is of the past, those are not reasonable. Now, whatever view there is of the future other time will arise, and will not arise, those are the same as the past time. Now I say, I will arise in the future other time, I say I will not arise in the future other time, whatever view there is of the future time, those should be thought of as the same as the past time, whatever faults are said about the past time, those should also be specifically understood here. Furthermore, if the god is that person, then it will become permanent. The god will become unborn, because the permanent has no birth. If the god is that person,

English
If that were the case, it would become permanent. Furthermore, it would also become an unborn god. Why? Because permanence has no birth. Because whichever god it is, that itself is not a human and is also not an unborn god, therefore it is not permanent. If a god is different from a human, then it would become impermanent. If a god is different from a human, then the continuum would not be reasonable. If a god is different from a human, then it would become impermanent. The reason for the continuum does not establish that a god is different from a human, therefore it is not impermanent. If one side is a god, and one side is a human, because it becomes permanent and impermanent, that is also not reasonable. If one side is a god, and one side is a human, then it would become permanent as well as permanent, and impermanent as well as impermanent. Because such a dual nature is unreasonable, therefore permanent as well as permanent, and impermanent as well as impermanent is not. If permanent and impermanent, both are established, then, neither permanent nor impermanent, depends on wanting to establish. If permanent and impermanent are both completely established, then, therefore neither permanent nor impermanent, that also depends on wanting to be completely established, because permanent and impermanent are not completely established, therefore neither permanent nor impermanent, that will also not be completely established. If something comes from somewhere, and something goes somewhere, therefore it has no beginning, if it becomes permanent, that is also not. If something comes from some place, and something goes somewhere, therefore it has no beginning and becomes permanent, if one searches with wisdom, there is nothing like something coming from some place and something going somewhere, therefore it also has no no beginning, therefore it is not permanent. If there is nothing permanent, what impermanent will become existent? Permanent and impermanent, those two are eliminated. If one examines with wisdom in that way, there is nothing permanent, now impermanent
