If. Going does not exist because there is no cessation. Another examination is that birth does not exist because there is no cessation, and likewise, there is no manifest clinging to all the rest. Another examination is that whatever arises in dependence on what, that is neither itself nor other than what it is for, therefore, it is not appropriate for it to arise in three ways, therefore there is no birth. Therefore, because there is no birth, there is no coming. Because there is no coming, there is no going. Another case is that whatever arises in dependence on what, that is not itself, therefore there is no permanence. Because it is not other than what it is, therefore there is no annihilation. This is another examination, whatever arises in dependence on what, that is not itself, therefore it is not the same meaning. Because it is not other than what it is, therefore it is not a different meaning. This is another case, whatever arises in dependence on what, that is without inherent existence. Because it is without inherent existence, there is no birth. Because there is no birth, it is not the same meaning, nor is it a different meaning. Only because there is no birth, there is no coming and no going. This is another case, whatever arises in dependence on what, that is without inherent existence, because it is without inherent existence, it is not to be manifestly clung to by all the differences of names such as cessation. This is another case, for it, the previous four words, no cessation, etc., up to no permanence, those mostly belong to their own tenets, therefore those have already been explained. Which of the latter belong to other tenets, those should be explained separately, the Samkhyas universally assert that cause and effect are one, in order to refute it, therefore it is not the same meaning. The Vaisheshikas universally assert that cause and effect are different, in order to refute it, therefore it is not a different meaning. Both of those also manifestly cling to the fact that things have various different functions, therefore those are summarized as going, in order to refute those, therefore it is shown that there is no coming and no going. Here it is said that if there is no meaning, then the differences of names such as cessation are names.

Therefore, if those things exist, then the distinctions of names such as 'cessation' will arise, which are objects of thought. Here it is said that if names and things with names are fully established, then the distinctions of names such as 'cessation' should also be fully established. But these are not reasonable. Why? Because, names and things with names, either they are the same, or they are different, and neither case is reasonable. Why? For a moment, if a certain name is the very thing with a name, then the thing with a name becomes unique. If it is unique in this way, then when saying 'mother,' the lips should close, but in reality, they do not close. Furthermore, those who are skilled in sound always argue in order to distinguish the agent and the action, therefore, these two are not the same. If the name is different and the thing with a name is also different, then they are different. If these two have no cause, that is not allowed. If the name of the thing with a name is reasonable, then if there is no thing with a name, what is it the thing with a name of? Without a name, it is unreasonable to call it a thing with a name. Because who named it? Therefore, these two are also not different. Therefore, since names and things with names cannot be established as the same or different, the distinctions of names such as 'cessation' cannot be established. Furthermore, according to the scriptural authority, in the Sutra it says: 'Name is like a mirage. If it is like a mirage, then it is inverted. Whatever is inverted is not true. If one distinguishes with an untrue name, then it is not reasonable to call it true.' Therefore, according to the scriptural authority, names and things with names cannot be established. If these two are not established, then the conceptual distinctions of names such as 'cessation' cannot be established. Therefore, 'cessation' is also unreasonable. Why? Because it is seen in the world. For example, in the world, it is seen that things do not have 'cessation.' For example, the varieties of rice and so on from the first kalpa, if those 'cessations' have ceased, then the current rice and so on
