So, why did the Buddha, the Bhagavan, not abide in Nirvana? This is reasonable and based on scripture. Those who have gathered the causes for abiding will not depart from abiding. For example, the causes for smoke and the like to abide, such as fire and wood, are fully gathered. The Buddha, the Bhagavan, also has the causes for abiding uninterruptedly as long as samsara exists. What pervades the destruction of abiding is not the gathering of the causes for abiding itself. This shows a contradiction here, so the pervasion is contradictory. The dissimilar dharma is the cessation of smoke and the like. The absence of incomplete causes is contradictory because it is impossible for a result to arise. So, how is the reason established? It is explained that the causes for abiding are incomplete because there is no ability to accomplish the benefit of sentient beings, and because of being separated from great compassion, and because of not having the freedom to abandon the activities of life, and because the karma of the life force being fully ripened is exhausted, and because there are no sentient beings to be tamed by the Buddha. The opposite of these is the cause for abiding. Regarding this, the teacher promised with unobstructed wisdom ability, so it is not like the first conceptual thought either. If that were the case, what would be the difference from a rhinoceros and the like? Just as a Brahmin holding a clean vessel does not feel disgusted by serving a skull-headed person for a long time, because he has become his nature, compassion does not diminish without effort. Effort will not arise without seeing faults. This is also not existent, because it is the nature of merit, why is there more focus on that itself? Therefore, it is not like the second conceptual thought either. Because the practice of the miraculous feet has reached perfection, the third conceptual thought is also unreasonable. It is said, "Ananda, whoever cultivates and familiarizes themselves with the miraculous feet, doing so many times, then if they wish to abide for an eon or more than an eon, it is possible." The exhaustion of the karma of the fruition of life is also because in many eons, they have accumulated and familiarized themselves with abandoning killing, and limitless methods of giving, etc.

There is no existence for the guru of beings who possesses the perfections such as generosity. If a superior cause results in a superior effect, and a non-superior cause results in a non-superior effect, this is the law of cause and effect. It is not like that; if a superior cause and a non-superior cause do not result in such an effect, then it is not the effect and the cause that produces it, because it does not depend on its distinctions. For the teacher, if there are no other countless causes of life, such as abstaining from killing, how can he not have a dwelling? If it is said that the result of all these is omniscience, that is also not correct, because it has actually been shown that life is long. It has been shown that the result of abandoning killing and the perfection of giving is not a small number of lifetimes. Similarly, if what is directly shown to be the cause of something, then when it is fully developed and the conditions are close, it will produce that. If it also becomes the cause of other things, what fault is there then? Furthermore, merely by being accustomed to that very dharma, omniscience will be attained, and the accumulation of merit will become its special abode,
