“Being delighted” and so on are the answers. It is the very distinction of joy that generates such an act of remembering. That which is similar to memory also causes the nature of stating the distinction of signs to arise as a supplication. From this, it should be known that it is a subsequent inference of the distinction that universally arises. It should be known that, just as inference is made from a sign, seeing a city and so on, one infers it. This is the condensed meaning. “Going again and again” means many answers. “Extremely delighted and satisfied” means vast. Differentiating this is “greatly increasing joy and satisfaction.” Alternatively, “extremely delighted and satisfied” is the first. “Greatly increasing joy and satisfaction” is continuous. It is explained that joy itself is satisfaction. Or, joy is it, and satisfaction is it, thus combining them into one. Among these, joy is mental ease. The previous extreme delight and inner satisfaction are satisfaction. For the sake of certainty, it was said, “In the time when the Bhagavan did not abide,” and so on. Those aspects, signs, and characteristics, those that the Bhagavan spoke of, are they those themselves? This is a question with a subtle tone. Or, the thought of “What is it?” arises from within. The thought is this: If, as in the example here, even a trace of the previously experienced aspects cannot be perceived, then how would they know about attending to Manjushri, the youth, and so on? The Bhagavan said, “As Light Protector spoke, so it is.” The meaning is this: The very dharma of a thing, that which clearly becomes the subsequent experience, that is what plants the seed of memory, and not otherwise. That subsequent experience also becomes clear because of great familiarity with those things, and extreme familiarity, and so on, being separated from nearness, and deteriorating due to unfavorable conditions in between. Therefore, memory does not arise immediately, just as one does not remember the taste of heat and snow that one has experienced. Just because of this, it is not that it does not exist.

Yes. By that power, it follows what is said about manifest desire and so on. It is like experiencing heat, cold, and so on in youth. The connection between merely following experience and manifest desire should be understood through the power of unwavering faith in the teachings of the Blessed One. Among these, the aspect (rnam pa) is a distinction of bodily joy, such as goosebumps rising and tears flowing. The sign (rtags) is a distinction of speech, such as joyfully making requests. The characteristic (mtshan ma) is a distinction of practice, such as listening, holding, reciting, and making offerings, which is to show what was previously explained. Thus, the aspect and so on are what the Blessed One declared. However, some people cling to things as they appear and sink into the mire of the extreme of superimposition. Therefore, in order to dispel manifest clinging, the Blessed One spoke of "that dharma is without aspect" and so on. Dharma is a synonym for dharma. "Also, the Perfection of Wisdom" is the nature of meaning. The meaning is this: all these aspects, signs, and characteristics are manifest desire for the nature of the two impure minds. However, the two are not true, as has been constantly stated many times. If those two are not separate from the aspect and so on, then how is it shown that they are endowed with the two, the aspect and so on? However, from seeing disciples who are endowed with hearing striving for this, it can be inferred that there was previous hearing. By what reasoning should those two not have aspect and so on? This is the same for the listener. Therefore, depending on the difference of the disciples, only those two, which are established as separate from aspect and so on, are mentioned, in order to show that they are the same for the listeners as well. If it were not so, then how would one state in order, "If a son of good family or a daughter of good family, those without aspect and without characteristics, how will they transform?" The dharma that the Blessed One taught, is it also for the sake of being without aspect, without sign, and without characteristic? This is the basis of reasoning. The Blessed Ones...
