If one meditates on the selflessness of the individual, how could afflictions not be exhausted? The answer to this is that not diminishing is not diminished by gradually abandoning the great and so on. By abandoning everything from the smallest of the small, one will also not completely diminish. Because there is no complete exhaustion in this, it is not diminishing, and the aggregates and desires, etc., are also inexhaustible. Because those that are distinguished by the aspects of the aggregates, etc., and the grasped and the grasper are non-existent. Thus, the view of the aggregates enters in the form of self and what belongs to self. Desire, hatred, and ignorance, etc., enter in the form of attachment to pleasant and unpleasant objects, etc., so it is said with this understanding. Then, in these aspects, ordinary beings, etc., have not moved from the aggregates, and they are only inexhaustible in terms of desire, etc., because they will not be exhausted, and they will not be completely exhausted, so what is superior to them, and why is it taught to the Bodhisattvas in this way? No, because they are not accustomed to the selflessness of phenomena, so they do not realize Suchness. Those steadfast individuals have meditated on the selflessness of phenomena many times with many methods for a long time, so they have the realization of Suchness. Therefore, it is reasonable to teach in this way in terms of that itself. Those great beings think that all phenomena have no own-being, and sentient beings manifestly cling to things as real, so they think with great compassion. Therefore, they remain in existence for a long time with minds controlled by great compassion, for the sake of benefiting all beings in samsara, so it is said, "Those who have not transcended samsara," because they do not abide in the realm of nirvana without remainder. They do not belong to the number of samsara, because although they are born in the ocean of samsara, they are not defiled by its impurities like a lotus. They have shown that they themselves do not abide in samsara and nirvana. It is said, "Those who have also not departed from the path,"

The activity is because all dharmas appear as devoid of inherent existence, and it becomes the nature of the path endowed with great compassion. Not generating the concept of the path is because one does not cling to its characteristics. They have clarified the method of not dwelling in samsara and nirvana. They will seek the meaning of this teaching, which is up to the content between "all ways and supreme." If someone doubts that this is not the intention of the Bhagavan, and that speaking in this way is merely self-assertion, Manjushri will say, "Well done! Well done!" meaning that your words are well spoken. As it is said, "Whoever revolves in existence is also free from the faults of existence, although speaking of emptiness, they do not abandon karma and its results, burning desire with wisdom, yet their hearts are moistened with compassion." And so forth, praises were spoken. If becoming a vessel of faith for superior individuals is so rare, then thinking, will there be any in the future? Then the Venerable Ongsung the Great asked, "When the Bhagavan does not remain in the world," and so forth. The phrase "regarding this profound Dharma and Discipline" refers to the great king, the king of sutras, established from the bottom of the ladder of higher realms. "Regarding this profound Prajnaparamita" refers to the essence of meaning. "Listening to this" means respectfully turning one's ear to the explanation of words and meaning. "Faith" means that after hearing, one follows with faith and also ascertains that "this is indeed so." "Seeking" means that one establishes its meaning through reasoning. "Will completely hold" means that after establishing it, one meditates by practicing it truthfully. The order of listening and so forth is clear. Alternatively, "faith" means that after hearing, one understands that the meaning of both faith and wisdom is indeed so. "Seeking" means that one meditates on the meaning as it is. "Will completely hold" means respecting the lama and also reading, reciting, offering, and diligently holding this scripture of Dharma and Discipline. They are in this retinue.
