He spoke, saying "Yes," and so forth. The term "profound, profound place" refers to a deep meaning, as it is free from defamation and exaggeration. The reason for not defaming or exaggerating is also shown in order, like this: "Manjushri, you have done deeds for the past Buddhas," and so on. The meaning of those has already been explained. Some people think, "This person speaks while abiding in that because he is wise, but not because of the power of things." Therefore, in order to completely abandon contempt, the Bhagavan said, "What? Manjushri, do you abide in the Prajnaparamita?" and so on. Some explain that, "Why does he speak these words while abiding in the Prajnaparamita?" Do you think so in your mind, or do you think that way? This is the final word. To show "No," the Bhagavan said, "If my mind were to abide in the Prajnaparamita in this way and speak these words, then even so, it would be abiding in an object of focus, and those words would be spoken. The object of focus is focusing on self and what belongs to self, etc. Even so, it would be abiding in the consciousness of self and speaking those words, which is a consciousness that focuses on its own nature and is characterized by attachment. The consciousness of things is attachment to the existence of the grasped and the grasper. The word 'etc.' in between includes the consciousness of life, the creator, the person, the nourisher, the individual, etc., and it is not thought that it is completely grasped. Therefore, abiding in the Prajnaparamita, I would not say those words; I would not do that," this is expressed from the heart. Why is that? Because even if one abides in the Prajnaparamita and speaks, just because of that, one also abides in the consciousness of self and what belongs to self, and would say those words. What is the connection? The Prajnaparamita itself is not the consciousness of self and what belongs to self; this is the debater's thought. The answer to this is, "Bhagavan, if one were to abide in the Prajnaparamita," and so on.

Now, it is explained that being free from the extremes of superimposition and defamation is the Prajñāpāramitā. O Bhagavan, if I were to conceptually think that there is some agent residing in that Prajñāpāramitā, then I would fall into the extreme of superimposition. The word 'of' here is shown to be removed from the mind, and it is a synonym for 'exists.' If it is not existence, but becomes non-existence, then it should be added that 'the nature of immaculate non-duality wisdom also becomes its nature.' Here also, the word 'also' is shown to be removed from the mind, and then one would also fall into the extreme of defamation. If that were the case, it would not be the Prajñāpāramitā that is free from the two extremes. Even if there is no abiding in the Prajñāpāramitā, the views of self and so on will not be abandoned, because by its power, the Bodhisattvas abandon them. In that way, it is permissible to abide in the concept of self and so on and say, 'It is that.' Why is it said, 'It is not abiding'? If this is asked, there is no fault, because it is considered that being free from the extremes of superimposition and defamation is the Prajñāpāramitā, so it is explained in that way. In order to clarify the meaning of suchness that has just been explained, the Bhagavan said, 'My abiding is not the abiding of the Prajñāpāramitā,' because the Prajñāpāramitā itself is the abiding, so it is the abiding of the Prajñāpāramitā. Because it is the basis of immaculate non-dual qualities, it is not my abiding, it is a synonym for 'not my basis.' By saying 'self,' it also represents the person and so on. Therefore, this shows the selflessness of the person. Then, do the abidings of the two, the grasped and the grasper, exist? The Bhagavan said, 'The abiding of the Prajñāpāramitā is not abiding,' the two, the grasped and the grasper, are remaining. This shows the selflessness of phenomena. If one doubts that these two are also merely the essence of vows, then it will be explained according to the order of reasoning.
