If it is not already admitted that this is the nature of peace, then why argue like that? Thinking like this: if one realizes that this is the nature of peace, then one should ask whether the other is the nature of extreme peace. Like this, this is also peace, this is also peace. If one says, among these two peace, which one is the most peaceful? In this way, one can be sure that this is the nature of peace, and one can ask whether the other is extremely peaceful. This should not be considered the nature of peace, because the samadhi of the Bodhisattvas is not realized by the Shravakas. After pointing out the fault of words like this, now, in order to clarify the meaning of this inconceivable samadhi, the venerable Sharadvatiputra asked: Is there any other samadhi more peaceful than this inconceivable samadhi? This is what is said. The answer to this is: Venerable Sharadvatiputra, if this inconceivable samadhi exists and is focused on in that way, then at that time, if there is another samadhi more peaceful than this inconceivable samadhi, then this samadhi would not exist in the first place, because it is non-existent. For the same reason, if one does not focus, then how can this be the nature of peace? Who would seek something more peaceful than this? Is this not just existence? It is not like that, if it does not exist, then the realization of the selflessness of phenomena would be impossible, and the reason why Bodhisattvas are extremely different from other beings would also become unreasonable. Therefore, focus is the only thing, if it is not like this, then there would be no difference between existence and non-existence. When thinking like this, Manjushri's intention is: Are you saying that this inconceivable samadhi is non-existent and unfocused? The answer is: Venerable Sharadvatiputra, just like this, that is the inconceivable samadhi. Because for this samadhi, there is no object to be thought of, and other minds cannot think of it either. It is also not appropriate to think and hold on to it oneself, therefore it is inconceivable. For what reason is it like that?

Therefore, it also shows that this inconceivable samadhi is non-existent and invisible. The meaning summarized here is this: Samadhi is called one-pointedness of mind, but in reality, there is nothing else that can be designated as the object of the mind's peak. How can it become a one-pointed samadhi? Therefore, it is merely a verbal expression. It is free from the collection of elaborations, unpolluted by sudden distractions, non-conceptual, unchanging, and devoid of the appearance of defilements. Whatever is called samadhi exists in the conventional truth. Then, for ordinary beings, there also exists the object described in this way, because at all times, the Dharma realm is perfectly established without change. Then, would they also fall into the state of having inconceivable samadhi? In response, if one temporarily wants to express it in this way, thinking that even children have inconceivable samadhi, and therefore does not want to have the slightest recognition, please understand it this way. Even so, the Venerable Shariputra's son and others proclaimed things like the inconceivable samadhi. Why? Because it is devoid of the two kinds of knowledge, even if the situation of the object already exists, it will not fall into the state where some sentient beings also have samadhi, will it? Thinking in the mind that this is not the merit of the state that has just fallen into, so it is for that reason again. All thoughts are and so on, thus it was proclaimed. All that should be thought about, all that can be thought about, is inconceivable, it is ungraspable. Then what will happen? Whatever is called inconceivable, because it is separated from the meaning that can be thought about, it is itself devoid of grasping, that is the inconceivable samadhi, called the existence of things. Therefore, from those parts, the establishment of all sentient beings obtaining inconceivable samadhi will not have any contradiction. Furthermore, in order to generate the joy of those who have more and more faith in the eloquent speech, Manjushri, you have well explained all these profound and deep places, all have been well explained.
