Therefore. If there is no agent, how can one strive for the arising of qualities such as powers and limbs of enlightenment, and the abandonment of all obscurations? Therefore, the Blessed One spoke of "what dharma arises" and so on, because there is no agent and because there is no cause for destruction, that is, it is empty of the agent of otherness and is only this condition. If there is no object of cessation and arising, how can the limbs of affliction and purification be made to decrease and increase? Because there is no agent, the Blessed One said, "That which does not diminish or increase in any dharma," and so on, meaning that it is because there is no agent and because there is no cause for destruction. If it is so without elaboration, how can one seek the ten powers and the qualities associated with the Bodhisattva who dwells on the higher and higher grounds? Therefore, the Blessed One said, "Furthermore, do not desire the inconceivable dharma." The inconceivable dharma is that which is perfectly endowed with all the qualities of the Tathagata and dwells purely. The lesser one is the Bodhisattva, a small part of the stream of stainless wisdom, because he is free from the abandonment of all obscurations. Why not desire? Therefore, the Blessed One said, "However, that which is desired and that by which it is desired does not exist," and so on. However, this means "in this way," because it shows the reason. That which should be desired in the order of action and agent does not exist. Here, the reason is shown by saying that all agents and so on are established as mutually distinct. If the inconceivable and the lesser dharma do not exist, how can they be seen in order as the highest and the lowest? Therefore, the Blessed One said, "The practice of Prajnaparamita is such that one does not abide near in saying, 'These dharmas are the highest, these dharmas are the lowest,'" meaning the combination of
