From not being intimidated by the profound realm of practice, to not declining in between, those who have taken refuge in me, starting from here, their wisdom increases and expands, becoming vast, and they will not be deceived regarding the unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment, up to here, the Thus-Gone One's guidance has been shown. The fruits of this, explained separately, will be taught later. Having said this, the youthful Manjushri addressed the Blessed One thus, starting from here, Manjushri, those who hear this profound Prajnaparamita, and having heard it, obtain joy, satisfaction, and vastness, I do not say that they are people with shallow roots of virtue, up to here, the aspiration is shown. Those with sharp faculties, who have already manifested, relying on the interpretation of the Dharma for establishment, and are able to truly understand how many and as they are, for their sake, the tasks have been completed. Now, Manjushri, if someone desires to hear this teaching of the Prajnaparamita, starting from here, until they are not destined for the state of a Hearer or Solitary Buddha, or do not have the conditions to enter, for the sake of those beings who can only be tamed through other teachings, in a metaphorical way, the image of the non-discriminating meditative realm is shown. Then, at that time, the lord of the gods, Indra, and the sons of the gods of the Thirty-Three, with celestial sandalwood powder and so on, up to the point of holding, those sons or daughters of noble families will undoubtedly think that this is accomplished by our gods, up to here, in order to make the characteristics of the teachings of scripture and realization last long, the accomplishment of the gods is shown. Then, the youthful Manjushri addressed the Blessed One thus, and so on, in order to make the sacred Dharma last long, the blessing of the Buddha is shown, these are the condensed meanings. Now, the extensive explanation begins, first is the request to the compiler by the assembly, and the compiler

The commencement of the discourse is the meaning of "Thus have I heard." Here, "Thus have I heard" is also for the sake of repeated recollection. The compiler is for the sake of the audience understanding through other means that the listener, the holder, the speaker, and the one who will speak are all included. If it were not so, the request would be unreasonable. The term "Thus" is for certainty. Because one does not know what it is like, therefore, in order to want to understand, the term "Thus" is used to ascertain "only this meaning." Whatever I have heard is thus and not otherwise, abandoning additions and omissions, completely commencing the discourse of all that follows as it was heard. Simultaneously hearing, holding, reciting, and speaking indicate that oneself is accumulating the roots of virtue towards the Buddhas, and is being taken care of by the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. If it were not so, it would be impossible to have such ability. This was also taught by the Blessed Lord Maitreya, the Protector: Having served the Buddhas, and also accumulated roots of virtue for them, possessing the protection of virtuous friends, these people can become vessels for hearing. Respectfully serving the Buddhas, universally inquiring, acts of generosity and discipline, etc., one should consider those who hold and recite, etc., to be the excellent vessels. Therefore, the word "I" is spoken, in order to cause the disciples to be free from doubt, to generate joy and listening, as well as respect, etc. The Noble Jewel Cloud Sutra also says that it is like a compassionate doctor. With the word "heard," it should be understood that, like the sound relying on letters, it is the very word spoken by the Buddha himself. The words "At one time," etc., are made in order to begin distinguishing the occasion. The time is the time of the teacher, etc. Because he has conquered the four maras, he is the "Bhagavan," which is the title for the teacher of beings who possesses an immeasurable collection of precious qualities. The utterance of the word "Bhagavan" is to say that for both retinues who have entered for the benefit of themselves and others, they are both simultaneously worthy of protection.

This is to show the reason. The Blessed One dwelt in the Jeta Grove, Anathapindika's Park, and also showed that that place became a stupa and would not be destroyed by fire, etc. Because that place arose by the power of the Tathagata who is free from all faults. The place where the Tathagata dwells with any of the four conducts will not be destroyed by fire and other disasters. This is because the Blessed One personally revealed it in the Bodhisattva Pitaka. If this is done, it is said in the Sutra of the Moon Lamp: 'In the east of Rajagriha, I saw billions of Buddhas, and in front of all the Victors, I asked for this supreme Samadhi of peace.' And in the Sutra Requested by Extremely Firm Intentions: 'Maitreya, this Dharma category has been spoken in this place by seventy-four kotis of thousands of Buddhas.' It will be in accordance with these. 'Dwelling' is a synonym for having excellent conduct. The word 'dwelling' shows the dwelling place of the gods and the noble Brahma. In Jeta Grove and other places, the Blessed One dwells like a wandering monk, doing his best for the benefit of sentient beings, not for the sake of repeating the nature of time. Therefore, it is said 'at one time', otherwise it is to show that he dwells in other places. This shows that the disciples who follow the Blessed One should also dwell in the three excellent dwelling places, not stay like a lump of clay. Some say that 'at one time' is connected to the previous one, meaning that it only appears to myself for a moment. This is not necessarily the case, because he himself appears, he does not want to ask the retinue, but wants to ask what is said in the auspicious praise. In order to make everything perfect, place and time are the reason, the retinue is the root, just like the scope and manner of debate. If you say that, that's me.
