etc. Just as others have attained liberation, so too has this one passed away; such is the Thus-Gone One. Some non-Buddhists generate the view that they themselves are liberated, and that what arises after their death is birth. How does this arise? Some rely on worldly paths to suppress afflictions. Some, through worldly paths alone, develop clairvoyance, such as knowing the minds of others. Some consider those who know the minds of others to be liberated; thus it comes about. For those individuals, when they die due to other causes, the afflictions and karma of another existence fully arise, and they see birth with their divine eye, and this view arises: the Thus-Gone One has passed away, and will arise after death. Others also suppress afflictions through worldly paths, and are born as non-conscious beings or formless beings. Others see the birth of suchness with their divine eye. Seeing the five aggregates themselves as sentient beings with their divine eye, they become holders of this view: the Thus-Gone One has passed away, and will not arise after death. Others, as before, suppress afflictions, and some are born into non-consciousness. In other places, from among those, others, as before, some develop clairvoyance, and some do not see birth; those become holders of this view: the Thus-Gone One has passed away, and both will and will not arise after death. Others, having seen these two, cling to various letters, but not to various meanings. Those become holders of this view: the Thus-Gone One has passed away, and neither will nor will not arise after death. All these views arise dependent on the five aggregates, such as form. Therefore, it is said to be dependent on form. Similarly, dependent on feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness. For example, the types of form, etc.

Upon seeing (form), the thought arises, "This being, or I, am beautiful or ugly." Similarly, upon seeing the conditioned (aggregate) pervaded by happiness and suffering, the thought arises, "This, or I, am endowed with happiness or endowed with suffering." Similarly, upon seeing the conditioned (aggregate) with a name, the thought arises, "This, or I, am of the royal caste or the Brahmin caste, even giving the Buddha through words, or a virtuous spiritual friend." Upon seeing the conditioned (aggregate) separated from virtuous and non-virtuous actions, the thought arises, "This, or I, am a later one or a wise one." Upon seeing consciousness following after an object, the thought arises, "This, or I, have seen this." Therefore, my consciousness is the object of the five aggregates. Furthermore, does this thought of "I" grasp the meaning of the directly perceived, or does it grasp the meaning of the inferred? In the first case, the aggregates such as form are themselves directly perceived, but not other beings. Nor does it grasp the meaning of the inferred, because even for children and infants, although not explicitly applied, they suddenly intervene, so the speaker of "I" admits the harm of "I," so it is not grasped through inference either. These knowledges, although conventional truths, appear profound and profound, and are fully understood by the Buddha Bhagavan himself, having directly known and manifested them. The Bhagavan himself almost completely knows what the cause of these views is, what the ultimate meaning is, what the result is, what the simile is, and what liberation is, and how they will arise, all of which have aspects and teachings. Others are not able to predict these views in this way. Similarly, in the views of permanence and so on that are being explained, "I" is the world of beings, and "world" is the container world. "Permanent" itself is true, while others are ignorance, and "impermanent" itself is true, while others are ignorance. So, how do views such as permanence arise? Here, a renunciant or a Brahmin.
