Because of non-discrimination. The term "those whose minds are not completely afflicted by afflictions" refers to the virtues that become the antidote to afflictions. The term "naturally luminous" means: The nature of the mind is naturally luminous, free from defilements, and constantly without complete afflictions, because it is emptiness. The term "despondency" refers to those who have afflictions, because they are combined with laziness. The term "rootless despondency" means that "rootless" means without a basis, because rootlessness itself is despondency. The mind is despondency, not the nature of the mind, but because of the nature of emptiness itself, there is no laziness. The term "those who completely hold the mind" refers to virtues, because they are combined with diligence. The ultimate nature spoken of by them is ungraspable, because from the ultimate truth, it is the nature of emptiness. It is not completely grasped, it is not a combination of diligence. The term "with outflows" means that "outflows" refers to afflictions. Combined with the state of habitual tendencies, it is with outflows. The term "without own-being" means that the own-being that one possesses is own-being, because without it, it is without own-being. Why is it without own-being? It is said to be like non-existence, because it is discriminating about things that do not exist, such as grasping. With the nature of emptiness, who can know the minds without outflows, meaning to know their ultimate truth. Those without outflows are because they are the antidote to outflows. The term "tending towards without own-being" is because it is separated from all own-beings. Because these without own-being have a tendency towards completely established own-being, it is said in this way. The meaning of the statement "measuring with no things" is also this. The term "spontaneously accomplished" is because of non-discrimination. The term "those with attachment" refers to those who are completely in accordance with attachment, that is, those with attachment. Subhuti, whatever is the mind's attachment

The meaning is: Here, regarding minds with desire, to truly know them as minds with desire, if one knows desire and mind as being of the nature of desire, then it is not truly knowing. If the nature of the mind being with desire is a true dharma, then the emptiness of the mind's nature is also a true dharma. The Tathagata's utterly pure wisdom or mind does not see desire and other mind-born dharmas, or the nature of being with desire. This is because those various states of desire and so on, are completely non-existent after being examined. Therefore, one should know that the meaning of that statement is that a mind with desire is not as it is, it is untrue. Abandoning it, knowing in a true manner, that is the meaning. The so-called mind being free from desire, is because it is completely not in accordance with desire, therefore it is said to be the antidote to desire. Then, how is the mind of the non-learner free from desire? Because desire is not observed in that continuum, and it is not an antidote. The nature of the antidote is not like that, due to the power of complete abandonment and complete aversion, and so on. If the mind of the non-learner is not the antidote to abandoning desire, or complete aversion is also an antidote. The so-called mind being free, is because of the nature of being free from desire, it is the nature of having desire. For a mind free from desire, one cannot say in conventional truth that it has desire. What is the true suchness of a mind free from desire? That is, the mind is not with desire, suchness is emptiness, that is, it is approximated by not having desire. One should know that the nature of being free from desire will also arise, meaning that the nature of the mind having desire and the nature of being free from desire, are also non-existent in ultimate truth. In conventional truth, in the manner of imputation, being free from desire and desire...

It cannot be said to be with the earth. In this way, the commentaries on the mind being with hatred should also be explained. When it is said to be with hatred, hatred is aversion. The difference from being with desire, etc., is because it is entirely practicing desire. The so-called non-vast mind is because it is vast with pure Dharma, and because it is close to beings with the great Dharma of Bodhisattvas such as compassion. Vastness refers to the mind of virtue. The opposite of that is non-vast. The so-called no coming, etc., non-vastness itself exists through other vastness. The so-called going, if it is said to exist through going and coming, then the wisdom of the Tathagata does not see it that way, but sees it as the nature of no thing. Thus, the non-vast mind is not what is called non-vast. Therefore, fully knowing those things as they are, is to say that this is no thing. Among them, coming from afar to near is no coming. Going from near to far is going. Universally going belongs to. The so-called with equality, the Dharma nature of the minds of equality is emptiness, therefore it is equal. Their nature is emptiness, therefore with emptiness it is not becoming great equality. The so-called non-vast commentary, this is taken out in advance from a certain non-vast commentary in combination with Abhisamaya. Vastness refers to vastness such as the object. Not having that is non-vast. The so-called not possessing universal arising, universal arising is birth, because there is no that, so not possessing arising is no birth and emptiness, combining with that is not possessing universal arising. Belonging to no universal arising is through its own nature. Those minds are not diminishing, etc., the diminishing of other minds.
