Vastness and causing complete liberation from suffering is non-attachment to sentient beings, and it is through actions that vast accomplishment is achieved. The vast intention spoken of therein refers to "I will liberate immeasurable sentient beings," and so forth. "Immeasurable" means that it is impossible to exhaust because the number is vast. "Unfathomable" means that it is impossible to exhaust because the object of focus is vast. "Boundless" refers to the recitation that will appear below, which should be understood as not exhausting individuals. "Causing complete liberation from suffering" means causing them to abide in the state of liberation from suffering by pointing out the path. The vast accomplishment spoken of refers to "those are also not existent," and so forth. This indicates that at the time of thinking about liberating sentient beings from suffering, doing the work of perfecting the six perfections, which are common to all sentient beings, is not fixating on the characteristics of sentient beings. If one has not completely abandoned the conventional, dedicating generosity and so forth to enlightenment, and has not completely abandoned the ultimate, possessing the yoga of non-fixation, then the characteristics of generosity and so forth, and the characteristics of enlightenment, and the characteristics of enlightenment are not fixated upon. However, because Bodhisattvas act for the benefit of sentient beings, the characteristics of sentient beings are mainly explained. Alternatively, "which ones" refers to which Bodhisattvas have completely perfected generosity and so forth, which refers to the giver and the given, and it is also explained in the same way, wanting to say that both are causes. Just as at the time of thinking about liberating sentient beings from suffering, at the time of liberation from suffering, non-fixation on characteristics is also proclaimed. This is explained through "those sentient beings," and so forth. In some places, it is recited that "those are also not existent." Why is that? This is because the reason for not fixating on the characteristics of those sentient beings and so forth is proclaimed, namely, "the Dharma nature of all dharmas is this." Dharmas refers to the aggregates and so forth. Their suchness, that is, the Dharma nature that is separated from all characteristics, is self-nature.

Thus, this nature of all phenomena being without objects of reference, the extensive conduct of a Bodhisattva, is taught as the great armor. This is spoken of with an example established for worldly people, such as "for example," etc. Such a transformation is not non-existent. "How also" means the meaning of "how itself." Fame itself is the example. The sound of the name is clear, and the wise are sharp. Living by the illusion of a magician. The close attendant of a magician is someone who conjures for the sake of his disciple's habit, but does not live by illusion. The multitude of beings is the aggregate of beings. Invisible means not truly seeing, because the illusion is gathered up. Subhuti, how do you think, is a general question followed by a specific question. "Again" means "however." Killing is killing sentient beings. Death is by oneself. Having considered the needs of countless sentient beings, such as clothing, it is said to be destroyed. Made invisible means destroyed by oneself. Names, etc., have already been explained. Then, the Venerable Subhuti, from the cause similar to illusion, arises a firm confidence born from himself, namely the Blessed One "How wonderful," etc. This is the meaning of having no armor. The sound of "How wonderful" is joy, because it is spoken in terms of ultimate truth, so the armor previously spoken of is all the nature of the completely conceptualized. Therefore, by the nature of having no armor, the Bodhisattva is the meaning of having received the armor of suchness's own nature. Why is that, etc.? What is the thought? In this world, armor has three types.

If anything is made, transformed, or manifestly assembled, then it is suitable for the meaning of omniscience. Because omniscience is not made, not transformed, and not manifestly assembled, therefore it is unreasonable to equip for its meaning. Because omniscience is only pure in suchness, and when suchness is regarded as the aspect of the imputed, such as the suchness of form and the suchness of sound, then it is not in that way either, so it is said. Blessed One, it is so. Well-gone One, it is so. Saying this twice is a sign of holding one's own mind. Therefore, it fully clarifies the holding of one's own mind and shows that, such as "it is like this" and so on. So, what is the intention? Some may think like this: not doing, not transforming, this says nothing. Because the five aggregates are bound by the contaminated, the imputed, and so on. They are bound, and again and again in samsara are made by karma and afflictions. The uncontaminated will be transformed later when liberated. Therefore, it is said, "Form is not bound, not liberated," and so on. Because bondage and liberation exist in what exists, but form and so on do not exist at all. Why are bondage and liberation established for these? That is said according to the power of the imputed, but not from the ultimate truth, that is the intention. "The suchness of form is also," that is to say, when suchness is regarded as the aspect of the imputed, such as the suchness of form and the suchness of sound, then it is not in that way either, so it is said. If because form and so on do not exist, therefore there is no bondage and liberation, if it is really like this, then "form is not bound, not liberated," and suchness should not be established as a term either, that is the intention.
