The nature of the assemblies is the Sangha; from actions contrary to it, one becomes separated from the Sangha. Intention is to be perfectly in accordance with desire. Laziness is idleness. Mostly, householders have many affairs. The term 'even' means wanting to reduce without any remainder. Having realization means because of understanding the words. Having mindfulness means because of holding both. 'Will go' means to be connected with action and the agent; it means 'will go.' This indicates that from the object of the listener's intention, the speaker's intention is a different object. Understanding by mentioning the beginning is because of knowing the distinction in the general statement. Understanding in detail is because of slightly differentiating and thus fully knowing all. Fully knowing means being single-minded about the words. That is, knowing the very thing that is spoken, not the remainder. Cherishing possessions means that possessions are material; cherishing them means thinking of them as many, because this person has this thought, therefore it is cherishing possessions. Similarly, cherishing Dharma robes, etc. Having few desires means wanting as much as one engages in oneself, therefore it is having few desires. Being content means because of not wanting more. Being very secluded means because of not engaging with the many. Having become faithful and wanting to compose this is from the words. Wanting to penetrate the meaning is from the meaning. 'Wanting to completely give away wealth' means wanting to completely give away, because of giving without expectation. The speaker of Dharma will not expound because of not having faith, and because of not seeking wealth, and because of having stinginess towards the Dharma. Subhuti, and others, those Sutras are what one wants to hear. 'Having become an obstacle to the Dharma' means that an obstacle to the Dharma is because not being in accordance with the Sangha, one cannot hear. Because this exists here, therefore it is having become an obstacle to the Dharma, through its entity. 'Not' or this word means it will not become 'is.' If one does not enter, it means one will not come from elsewhere. 'Unobtained Dharma' means not having obtained a Dharma speaker. 'Stating disagreement' means stating disagreement. Because of hearing suffering, the mind

The explanation about non-arising and obstacles is, Subhuti, "furthermore" and so on. The so-called "praising sentient beings in hell" refers to hell being filled with extreme heat and other sufferings. The suffering of being deeply trapped with each other is the birth place of animals. Those filled with the suffering of hunger and thirst are the pretas. Those suffering from being oppressed by arrogance are the asuras. Those filled with the suffering of birth and so on are all conditioned things. Subhuti, "this also" refers to arising from renunciation. The so-called "deeds of Mara" are due to suffering and renunciation. In order for the Shravakas and others to completely pass away from Nirvana, even the enjoyments of the gods show the suffering of conditioned things again, thereby easily renouncing. The explanation about obstacles is "furthermore" and so on. The so-called "accomplishing in existence" refers to the classification of existence, namely the nature of realms, destinies, and birth places. Subhuti, "even so" and so on, the deeds of Mara are numerous, the Buddhas have completely abandoned them, and the reason why Mara is diligent towards them is, Subhuti, "furthermore" and so on, Mara transforms into the appearance of a renunciate, and abandoning due to doubt is a fault. Subhuti, "furthermore" and so on, those who practice the Dharma made by Mara who transforms into the appearance of a Bhikshu are prophesied to inferior Bodhi, which is a fault. Subhuti, "thus" and so on, until the end of this chapter, four meanings are explained: the multitude of Mara's deeds, their causes, being narrow-minded when becoming afraid of them, and how Mara is diligent towards them, that is, how all the Buddhas embrace the Bodhisattvas. In this chapter, all the words and phrases that we have spoken are seen in the previous scriptures. One should also understand the six faults, as well as the fourteen. This is because seeing the explanations of the great ones, it is added here, and it is like that.
