To show that the assembly of form and Dharma is beneficial, two places are mentioned. To show the perfection of attendants, it is said, "Together with the great Sangha of monks," and so on. The attendants are monks and attendant Bodhisattvas, and so on. Although both are excellent places for giving, because they are universally respected in the world, inseparable, and common to all beings in the world, the attendant monks are mentioned first. Among them, "the great Sangha of monks" is first mentioned in general, and later "with about five thousand monks" is mentioned specifically. By showing it in general and specific terms, it becomes very relevant. After showing the multitude of attendants, in order to show greatness, it is said, "All are Arhats, those who have exhausted the outflows," and so on. The following mentions the perfect qualities. The so-called "all are Arhats" means that all are only Arhats, showing that there are no learners or ordinary beings there. The so-called Arhat means that they have destroyed the enemies, or the Dharma nature of not being reborn in Samsara, or that their own benefit is completely fulfilled, or that they are able to teach others, or that they are able to become the Sangha Jewel, or that they are able to be worshiped by the lords of the three realms in various ways, or that they are constantly worshiping and remembering the Tathagata's conduct, so all are Arhats. The so-called "exhausted outflows" means that the roots of non-virtue are leaked by the four Dharmas, or that the defilements and impurities are leaked, so it is called outflow. That is, the five objects such as form, the three existences, the co-emergent and imputed ignorance, and the sixty-two views are the outflows of desire, the outflows of existence, the outflows of ignorance, and the outflows of views. With the aggregates of non-learning morality and Samadhi, the outflows of desire are exhausted. With the aggregates of non-learning wisdom, the outflows of views are exhausted. With the aggregates of non-learning liberation, the outflows of existence are exhausted. With the non-learning

Through the aggregate of wisdom that sees perfect liberation, the outflows of ignorance are exhausted. Alternatively, in the path of seeing in the realm of perfect morality, the outflows of views are exhausted through right view. In the realm of perfect concentration, in the path of non-returning, the outflows of desire are exhausted through right concentration. In the realm of perfect wisdom, in the path of the Arhat, the outflows of ignorance are exhausted through right knowledge of liberation. In the realm of perfect liberation, the outflows of existence are exhausted through the knowledge of cessation and the knowledge of non-arising. Alternatively, in the path of the Arhat, the outflows of desire are exhausted through completely knowing the cause of desire. Because of the condition of ignorance, actions arise, therefore, by completely knowing the cause of actions, the outflows of ignorance are exhausted. By completely knowing the cause of afflictions, the outflows of views are exhausted. By completely knowing the cause of the aggregates, the outflows of existence are exhausted. Alternatively, because all views arise from focusing on the five aggregates of clinging, by completely knowing the truth of suffering, the outflows of views are exhausted. By abandoning the truth of the origin, the outflows of desire are exhausted. By directly realizing the truth of cessation, the outflows of existence are exhausted. By meditating on the truth of the path, the outflows of ignorance are exhausted. By abandoning the outflows of desire, the demon of the son of the gods is overcome. By abandoning the outflows of existence, the demon of death is overcome. By abandoning the outflows of ignorance, the demon of afflictions is overcome. By abandoning the outflows of views, the demon of the aggregates is overcome. From overcoming the four demons, it is called the exhaustion of outflows. What is called non-affliction is a synonym for the absence of all afflictions. That which makes one afflicted is affliction, that is, all the afflictions of karma. Because it makes one afflicted, it is all the afflictions of affliction. That which becomes afflicted is affliction, that is, all the afflictions of the aggregates of maturation. Because one becomes afflicted from this cause, it is all the afflictions of birth. When that path of knowledge ceases, actions cease, therefore there are no afflictions of karma. When actions cease, consciousness, name and form, the six sense bases, contact, and feeling cease, therefore it is the
