Its function is: Above, the path and non-path have been pointed out, Arya Subhuti rejoices and praises the Prajnaparamita, which is to show the meaning of the selflessness of phenomena and persons, and to perfectly show the benefit of oneself and others, and because it is the great cause of obtaining the fruit of omniscience, it is the function of accomplishing great purposes. The Blessed One said: Subhuti, it is so, it is so, etc., in order to make the retinue believe the meaning of what Subhuti asked, and to show that it is true. Immeasurable meaning and innumerable meaning are also explanations of great meaning, because omniscience is the cause of obtaining immeasurable and innumerable qualities, and it is to accomplish the benefit of immeasurable and innumerable sentient beings. Although the Prajnaparamita also speaks of that meaning, but with "form is upheld" etc., although such meaning is shown in the conventional, in the ultimate, for all phenomena of the world and beyond, such as form, it is not regarded as real and clung to as a sign. The Prajnaparamita does not cause the Bodhisattva Mahasattva to obtain unsurpassed perfect enlightenment, etc., which means that the Prajnaparamita has no acceptance or rejection for any dharma. If the nature of dharma is taken as a measure, then the Prajnaparamita does not generate any dharma, nor does it cease any dharma, which is to explain the reason for the absence of acceptance or rejection mentioned above, if reality is taken as the basis, then all dharmas are of one taste in emptiness, therefore, the dharmas belonging to the aspect of purification cannot arise, and the dharmas belonging to the aspect of defilement cannot be stopped, so it is shown that no dharma will arise, nor will any dharma cease. Taking the nature of dharma as a sign means taking reality as the basis. Question: Blessed One, if the Prajnaparamita does not generate any dharma, nor does it cease any dharma, then

By means of actions and so forth, it is explained that since this Perfection of Wisdom is such that no phenomenon has any substance, one does not conceive of anything, and does not prevent or generate anything. How then should a Bodhisattva, with wisdom, practice the six perfections such as generosity? This is a question based on the ultimate truth. The Blessed One replied: With the aim of attaining omniscience, one should give alms. This means that although in the ultimate sense there is no phenomenon to be generated or refuted, in the conventional sense, in order to attain omniscience, one should dedicate the roots of virtue from the six perfections to all sentient beings, and completely dedicate them to unsurpassed, perfect enlightenment. By wisdom, one understands the ultimate truth, and by skillful means, one shares the roots of virtue with all sentient beings in the conventional sense, and completely dedicates them to unsurpassed, perfect enlightenment. Thus, when skillful means and wisdom are combined, and the three spheres are purified, the practice of the six perfections will be perfected. The meditation on loving-kindness of a Bodhisattva Mahasattva is omniscience itself. This explains the nature of omniscience. The meditation on loving-kindness of a Bodhisattva, which has the characteristics described earlier, is the cause of attaining omniscience. Therefore, by attributing the result to the cause, it is shown that the meditation on loving-kindness itself is omniscience. Similarly, not being separated from the six perfections is also the cause of attaining omniscience. Therefore, by attributing the result to the cause, it is shown that not being separated from the six perfections is not separated from omniscience. Therefore, those who wish to attain unsurpassed, perfect enlightenment should strive in the six perfections. The question is: "Blessed One, how should a Bodhisattva Mahasattva strive in the six perfections?" This is a question raised from the previous statement that one should strive in the six perfections.

How to truly meditate on and strive for the six perfections? The Blessed One said: Subhuti, how should a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva contemplate, that is, neither having form nor not having form, and so on, neither having all-knowingness nor not having all-knowingness? Through the above content, it is explained that all dharmas such as form, in terms of the ultimate truth, are completely pure in nature, therefore neither having defilements such as afflictions, nor not having them after cutting off defilements, one should contemplate in this way. Furthermore, Subhuti, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva should strive to abide in form, etc. Through the above content, it is explained that all dharmas such as form are completely pure in nature, therefore not abiding in anything, because there is no object to abide in and rely on, therefore do not abide in the mind of wanting to obtain the Vipaka Skandha, happiness, etc. up to all-knowingness, or abide in the mind of wanting to obtain the fruit of all-knowingness, do not practice yoga on the six perfections, this is a summary teaching. Why? Because form does not abide in anything, etc., the above explains the reason for not abiding. In terms of the ultimate truth, because the Suchness of dharmas such as form does not abide in anything, therefore the Bodhisattva does not abide in anything, doing so is not contrary to Suchness, therefore one will manifest unexcelled perfect enlightenment. Subhuti, for example, if someone wants to eat fruits such as mangoes or pineapples, the above uses a metaphor to explain in a conventional way the cause of acting in accordance with the fruit. Through this conventional metaphor, it is explained that in terms of the ultimate truth, if one practices yoga on the cause corresponding to Suchness, that is, without dwelling on any dharma, one will attain unexcelled Bodhi, and in the conventional world one should also study the six perfections and benefit sentient beings through the six perfections, doing so will attain Bodhi that does not depend on others.
