This is the seat. Question: World Honored One, how is it that form is completely ungrasped and unabandoned? From "How is it that form is completely ungrasped and unabandoned?" to "How is it that all-knowingness is completely ungrasped and unabandoned?" is asking for the method of not abandoning the Prajnaparamita for all dharmas such as form. The World Honored One taught: Subhuti, because form is not taken to mind, form is completely ungrasped and unabandoned. From "Because form is not taken to mind, form is completely ungrasped and unabandoned" to "Because all-knowingness is not taken to mind, all-knowingness is completely ungrasped and unabandoned" is showing that all dharmas such as form are unborn from the beginning, and because they are not objects of focus, not taking them to mind is completely ungrasped and unabandoned. Subhuti, thus form is completely ungrasped and unabandoned. From "Thus form is completely ungrasped and unabandoned" to "Unsurpassed perfect and complete enlightenment is completely ungrasped and unabandoned" is repeating the words mentioned above, thus not taking them to mind is completely ungrasped and unabandoned, it is not grasping and abandoning real things. Question: World Honored One, if form is not taken to mind, feeling is not taken to mind, from "feeling is not taken to mind" to "If all-knowingness is not taken to mind, how will the roots of virtue grow? If the roots of virtue do not grow, how can the six paramitas be perfected? If the six paramitas are not perfected, how can all-knowingness be attained?" is a hypothetical question, if all dharmas are not taken to mind, then the accumulation of merit and wisdom will not grow, how can all-knowingness be attained? The World Honored One taught: Subhuti, when form is not taken to mind, from "when form is not taken to mind" to "when unsurpassed perfect and complete enlightenment is not taken to mind, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva's roots of virtue will grow, and when the roots of virtue grow, the six paramitas will be perfected. When the six paramitas are perfected, then"

Until "one will attain the state of omniscience," it is taught that by truly realizing that all phenomena, including form, are empty in the ultimate sense, and by not being attached to them or focusing on them, one can completely purify the three spheres, increase the roots of virtue, and perfect the six perfections, thereby attaining the state of omniscience. Why is that? Until "because of not focusing on form, one will fully awaken to unsurpassed, perfect, complete enlightenment," it is a repetition of the aforementioned meaning, that is, if one does not focus on all phenomena, one will fully awaken to unsurpassed, perfect, complete enlightenment. The question, "Why is it that one does not focus on form in that way?" until "without focusing on unsurpassed, perfect, complete enlightenment, one will attain the state of omniscience," is asked in order to distinguish and explain the circumstances in which focusing on all phenomena will become a fault. The Blessed One declared, until "do not mix with any dharma," it is taught that if one regards phenomena as real and focuses on them with attachment, then one will not be liberated from the three realms. Therefore, one should not focus on any dharma with attachment, and one should not mix with any dharma of the three realms. The question, "Blessed One, where will those Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas who practice the Perfection of Wisdom in that way abide?" is a question asking where one should rely on and abide if one does not focus on all phenomena in that way and does not mix with any dharma of the three realms. The Blessed One declared: "Subhuti, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva who practices in that way will not abide in form," until "will not abide in the state of omniscience," it is taught that due to regarding phenomena as real and being attached to them, one will not abide in any dharma. The question, "Blessed One, why will one not abide even in the state of omniscience?" is asking about the state of omniscience.

If it is said that wisdom is to be attained and acquired, then why does it not abide in anything? The Blessed One replied: Because there is no attachment, it does not abide in anything. This means that, in the ultimate sense, all dharmas are empty in nature, and there is no attachment or abiding. Why is that? Because in this way, it does not attach to anything, nor does it see any dharma that can be abided in. This clearly shows that meaning with reason: if there were something, then one could be attached to it or abide in it; but in the ultimate sense, all dharmas are empty in nature, so there is nothing to be attached to or abide in. That is why it does not abide in anything. Subhuti, therefore, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva practices the Prajnaparamita in a way that is without attachment and without abiding. This means that, as mentioned above, if he practices without being attached to any dharma and without abiding in any dharma, then he is practicing the Prajnaparamita. If a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva thinks like this: 'To practice and cultivate in this way is to practice the Prajnaparamita,' up to 'being far removed from all omniscience,' this indicates that when he practices without being attached to anything and without abiding in anything, even if a mere thought arises, 'I practice and cultivate in this way,' it is inconsistent with the meaning of the Prajnaparamita, and therefore, he is far removed from all pure dharmas such as the Prajnaparamita. Why is that? Because the Prajnaparamita does not attach to anything, and there is no attachment to the Prajnaparamita itself. This means that, in the ultimate sense, all dharmas are empty in nature, and the Prajnaparamita is also empty, so it neither causes other things to be attached, nor is it attached to by other things.
