It means that one will not attain the state of omniscience. Then, what if one does not meditate? It means, then, if one does not practice, does not realize, and does not meditate, will one attain the state of omniscience? This is the question. The answer is, that is not the case. It means that without practice and without meditation, one will not attain the state of omniscience. Then, what if one meditates and also does not meditate? It means that one cannot attain by meditating in that way, and one cannot attain without meditating. Then, can one attain by doing both meditating and not meditating? This is the question. The answer is, that is not the case. It means that because it would become like the two faults mentioned earlier, that is also not the case. Then, what if it is neither meditating nor not meditating? It means that, like what is said in the teachings of the naked ascetics, there is something that is neither of the two, can one attain by that? This is the question. The answer is, that is also not the case. It means that is also not the case. Then, how should one attain the state of omniscience? It means that, just like suchness and so on, which are inexpressible and inconceivable, in order to distinguish the occasion for teaching that one should also meditate on the state of omniscience, this is the question. The Blessed One taught, just like suchness and so on, this is teaching the method of how one will attain the state of omniscience. Suchness and the ultimate reality, and the realm of phenomena, which are inexpressible and inconceivable, and the self, sentient beings, life, person, and so on, which are conceived by non-Buddhists, are not objects of attachment or establishment even in conventional truth. Similarly, all phenomena, such as the Prajnaparamita, are not objects of attachment or establishment. If one realizes and meditates on this, then one will attain the state of omniscience. The question is, Blessed One, what? Is the Prajnaparamita something that can be established? And so on, just like what was said earlier, suchness and so on belong to the different names of the realm of phenomena, and the self and so on conceived by non-Buddhists cannot be established.

If one does not examine anything, then one will attain omniscience. Are all dharmas, such as the Perfection of Wisdom, up to omniscience, also unnameable? This was the question. The Blessed One said: Subhuti, the Perfection of Wisdom is unnameable, and so on. All dharmas, such as the Perfection of Wisdom and pure dharmas, as well as all dharmas such as conditioned and unconditioned dharmas, are also unnameable. If one realizes this, one will attain omniscience. This was the teaching. The question: Blessed One, if all dharmas are unnameable, why do sentient beings go to hell? And so on. Like this, all dharmas are empty of inherent existence and unnameable. The result of bad deeds is the three lower realms, and the result of good deeds is higher realms and the noble grounds. From the point of view that there is no such thing, why are these things taught in the scriptures? This was the question. The Blessed One said: Subhuti, what do you think? Is there anything to be observed in the designation of sentient beings? And so on. The teaching of the lower realms and higher realms, etc., is only conventionally established for the benefit of sentient beings, that there is happiness and suffering due to the results of good and bad actions. In reality, there is nothing to be observed in anything, so one should train in the unnameability of all dharmas. This was the teaching. The question: Blessed One, then the Bodhisattva Mahasattva, practicing the Perfection of Wisdom, trains in form, etc. Like this, if all dharmas are unnameable, then form, etc., up to omniscience, are neither observable nor nameable, and there is nothing to train in. Then should we not train in these things? This was the question. The Blessed One said: One should train in form without subtracting or adding, and so on. This is the teaching that one should train without slandering or exaggerating. Without subtracting is not seeing that it does not exist even in conventional truth. Without adding is not seeing that it exists in ultimate truth. The question: Blessed One, how
