Being skilled in that. Being skilled in what is neither existent nor non-existent means being skilled in the absence of both. Being skilled in suchness, etc., means that one is shown to be skilled in the various aspects of the realm of phenomena, up to the ultimate limit of reality and the inconceivable. Being skilled in cause and condition means that the actions of non-Buddhists such as the Lord of Power are not causes and conditions, but rather being skilled in the causes and conditions of karma and afflictions, etc. Being skilled in the absence of conditions means being skilled in the fact that the conditions conceived by non-Buddhists are not conditions. Being skilled in the realm of conditioned things means being skilled in all conditioned phenomena, worldly and trans-worldly things that arise from the aggregation of causes and conditions. Being skilled in the unconditioned means being skilled in suchness, etc., which are not made by the aggregation of causes and conditions. Being skilled in realms means being skilled in the three realms. Being skilled in the absence of realms means being skilled in the fact that in reality the three realms are without substance. The Bodhisattva Mahasattva should be known to be skilled in not paying attention to form, etc. This means that since all phenomena, including form, etc., up to the point of all-knowingness, are without substance in reality, one realizes that nothing is an object of attention. It is shown that one becomes skilled in not paying attention to any of those phenomena. The Bodhisattva Mahasattva should be known to be skilled in the fact that form is empty of form, etc. This means that since those phenomena, including form, etc., up to the point of all-knowingness, are without substance in reality, one becomes aware that they are empty of their own nature. Being skilled in the path of thorough training means being skilled in the nature of making body and mind fit for use through the worldly path, which is called thorough training, that is, being skilled in the blissful. Being skilled in the untrained means making body and mind fit for use through the trans-worldly path, that is, being skilled in not being attached to the bliss of the untrained. Being skilled in arising and ceasing, etc., means being skilled in the nature of arising and ceasing, and of changing from abiding, and in the nature of desire, hatred, and delusion, and the absence of those.

Being skilled in this, skilled in the views of non-Buddhists and their absence, skilled in the nature of phenomena such as name and form, and skilled in the benefits such as cause and effect. Asked, "Lord, how should one practice the Perfection of Wisdom?" etc., above is about practicing the Perfection of Wisdom, actualizing the Perfection of Wisdom, meditating on the Perfection of Wisdom, one should know that these are good. Regarding what was said, the differences between practice, actualization, and meditation were asked. The Lord taught: "Form is peaceful," etc., thereby showing their differences. One should realize that the five aggregates such as form are peaceful, dependent, hollow, and without essence, and one should practice the Perfection of Wisdom, this is what is to be shown. Among them, peaceful means that by the ultimate nature of emptiness, there is no birth and death, etc. Dependent means that things cannot be established on the basis of being real. Hollow and without essence is another way of saying that things do not exist. By actualizing the emptiness of space, one should actualize the Perfection of Wisdom, this is to show actualization. One should realize that all phenomena are empty like space, and then realize the Perfection of Wisdom, this is what is to be shown. Meditation, through such meditation, one should meditate on the Perfection of Wisdom, this is to say that meditation itself should also be broken down into emptiness, through meditating on non-existence, one should meditate on the Perfection of Wisdom, this is its meaning. The initial practice refers to the stage from the ground of aspiring conduct to the first ground, which is with effort and with characteristics. The subsequent actualization refers to the stage from the first ground up to the seventh ground, which is with effort but without characteristics. The subsequent meditation refers to the stage from the eighth ground onwards, which is spontaneously accomplished and abides in the absence of characteristics. Asked, "Lord, Bodhisattva Mahasattva in the Perfection of Wisdom
