Completed. This practice of the Prajñāpāramitā has four aspects: practicing the six pāramitās, fully maturing in perfect enlightenment, not clinging to excellent characteristics, and not generating desire for other realms. The first teaching begins with "the perfection of generosity," and so on. The term "yoga" means either union or diligence. The second teaching begins with "all of those." The third teaching begins with "Do not be arrogant about form," meaning do not grasp form's essence with the view of conceptual thought. "Not being arrogant" means not conceptually thinking about all phenomena. "Completely purifying" means becoming accustomed. The fourth teaching begins with "Son of good family, do not be arrogant about form. Subhuti, thus," and so on, which is a summary. Now, the Venerable Subhuti, for all phenomena that are empty of inherent existence, not desiring a nirvana that depends on oneself, and for the bodhisattvas who strive for unsurpassed, perfect, complete enlightenment, the Blessed One taught that they should practice austerities, beginning with "Blessed One, healing through the practice of austerities," and so on, which is generosity of such a nature. The Prajñāpāramitā is completely cultivated. "Even though one has become independent" is because of being extremely accustomed to the path. Here, it is said that compassion itself is the cause that prevents falling into nirvana, which is "extreme suffering." Now, the Blessed One, for the sake of benefiting the world at that very moment, for the sake of happiness, for the sake of love, for the sake of protection, refuge, place, support, friendship, island, light, guidance, and becoming a support, made a close establishment and teaching, and explained it extensively with "Thus, thus," and so on. In order to completely liberate from the five destinies, with the intention of abiding in a state of fearlessness, for the sake of benefiting

It should be known that it has already been shown above that "one should study this Prajñāpāramitā." Among the retinue, some think that this Prajñāpāramitā should be studied. Therefore, in order to dispel the conceptualization of considering this Prajñāpāramitā as real, this question is asked. The Blessed One said: 'Subhuti, the characteristic of being unformed like the sky is Prajñāpāramitā.' This is to show that Prajñāpāramitā is without substance in the ultimate truth, and is the same as the sky. 'Subhuti, the characteristic of Prajñāpāramitā is without characteristic,' this is to show that because it is like the sky, it does not exist as the characteristic of any dharma. 'Prajñāpāramitā has no characteristics whatsoever,' this is to show that Prajñāpāramitā is empty of self-nature, therefore it has no characteristics. The question: 'Blessed One, by what characteristic, the characteristic possessed by Prajñāpāramitā, does such a category exist by which all dharmas are possessed?' This is to distinguish the occasion of showing that all dharmas are devoid of self-nature and empty of self-nature, and its meaning is, are all dharmas the same as Prajñāpāramitā? The Blessed One said: 'Subhuti, it is so, it is so. By what characteristic, the characteristic by which Prajñāpāramitā exists, by that characteristic, all dharmas exist.' This is to show that Prajñāpāramitā and all dharmas are the same in being without characteristics and being emptiness. In order to show this more clearly, 'What is the reason for this? Subhuti, all dharmas are devoid of self-nature,' from here, 'Like this, by the characteristic of emptiness, and the characteristic of devoidness, by what characteristic, the characteristic by which Prajñāpāramitā exists, by that characteristic, all dharmas exist' was said. Its meaning is that Prajñāpāramitā and all dharmas are the same in being devoid of self-nature and empty of self-nature. Subhuti asked: Blessed One, if all dharmas are also devoid by all dharmas... until the Blessed One taught.
