From "happiness and mental happiness, and being endowed with many mental happinesses" in between, it shows the metaphor of not constantly abandoning the attention to the Prajñāpāramitā. If such attention is not abandoned, it shows that one will constantly have many mental happinesses. Praying to the Bhagavan, all these attentions are devoid of self-nature, etc. As such, the Prajñāpāramitā mentioned above, and not being separated from the attention endowed with omniscience, because some of the audience thought that such attention was real, Subhūti asked in order to eliminate this idea. The Bhagavan taught, from "Subhūti, this Prajñāpāramitā is empty of self-nature" to "there is no increase or decrease in this" in between, the so-called not being separated from attention should not be done with the attention that thinks it is real. In the true meaning, all dharmas are empty of self-nature, there is no author, knowing such Suchness, and the Dharmadhatu, etc., abiding in self-nature, is not separated from that attention, as shown. Praying to the Bhagavan, if the Prajñāpāramitā is inherently peaceful, and inherently empty, etc., from "that Bodhisattva Mahāsattva is practicing the Prajñāpāramitā" to "one should know such attention" in between, it is said that the above-mentioned is not separated from the Prajñāpāramitā. Because some of the audience thought that the Prajñāpāramitā was real, Subhūti asked in order to eliminate this idea, and the Bhagavan also gave an answer. The so-called not being separated from the Prajñāpāramitā should not be separated in a way that thinks it is real. In the true meaning, because it is empty of self-nature, Suchness and the Dharmadhatu, and the ultimate boundary of reality, are of one taste in self-nature, there is no increase or decrease in this, if there is no attachment to the distinction between one and two, then one can understand and practice the Prajñāpāramitā, therefore residing on the irreversible ground.

shown. Subhuti asked the Blessed One, "Is the emptiness of the Perfection of Wisdom, as well as emptiness, emptiness, without remainder, and without essence, the practice of the Perfection of Wisdom?" Previously, the Blessed One said that Bodhisattva Mahasattvas are practitioners of the Perfection of Wisdom. To dispel the doubt of some in the audience who thought that there were real Bodhisattvas practicing in this way, this question was asked. Emptiness, emptiness, emptiness, without remainder, and without essence, these are all synonyms for emptiness. If both the Perfection of Wisdom and the practice of the Perfection of Wisdom are empty of inherent existence, then who practices on whom? That is the meaning of the question. Emptiness, emptiness, without remainder, and without essence, these should be understood as synonyms for emptiness. The Blessed One replied, "Subhuti, it is not so." This indicates that saying "practicing the Perfection of Wisdom" is only a conventional expression. In ultimate truth, there is neither a practitioner nor something to be practiced. Subhuti asked the Blessed One, "Apart from the Perfection of Wisdom, is there any other dharma that practices the Perfection of Wisdom?" The meaning is, if the emptiness of the Perfection of Wisdom is not the practice of the Perfection of Wisdom, then apart from emptiness, is there any other dharma that is the practice of the Perfection of Wisdom? The Blessed One replied, "Subhuti, it is not so." This indicates that in ultimate truth, all dharmas are empty of inherent existence, so there is no other dharma that can practice the Perfection of Wisdom. Subhuti asked the Blessed One, "Then, is the Perfection of Wisdom the practice of the Perfection of Wisdom?" The meaning is, since apart from the Perfection of Wisdom, there is no other dharma that can practice the Perfection of Wisdom, then is the Perfection of Wisdom itself the practice of the Perfection of Wisdom? The Blessed One replied

The statement "That is not so" indicates that, in the ultimate sense, even the Perfection of Wisdom itself is empty of inherent existence, and therefore it does not operate on itself. "Bhagavan, does emptiness operate on emptiness?" This means that, in that case, nothing other than the Perfection of Wisdom operates on the Perfection of Wisdom. The Perfection of Wisdom itself does not operate on the Perfection of Wisdom, because if both the operator and the operated upon are empty, then does emptiness operate on emptiness? This is the question. The Bhagavan replied, "Rabjor, that is not so." The term "emptiness" refers to the absence of things. Because there are no things, there is no operation on the absence of things. That is the meaning. The question, "Bhagavan, apart from emptiness, does emptiness operate on emptiness?" means that if the operation itself does not operate on emptiness, then does emptiness operate on something other than emptiness? This is the question. The Bhagavan replied, "Rabjor, that is not so." This means that all phenomena are of one taste in emptiness in the ultimate sense, so there is no phenomenon that is not emptiness. That is the meaning. The question, "Bhagavan, what is it? Does form operate on the Perfection of Wisdom?" up to "Bhagavan, what is it? Does all-knowingness operate on the Perfection of Wisdom?" and the Bhagavan's reply, "Rabjor, that is not so," in between, means that if emptiness does not operate on emptiness, then do phenomena such as form up to all-knowingness operate on the Perfection of Wisdom? This is the question. All those phenomena are also of one taste in emptiness in the ultimate sense, so there is no distinction between the operator and the operated upon. Rabjor asked, "Bhagavan, what is it? The emptiness of form," and so on, up to "the emptiness of all-knowingness, falsity, hollowness, unreliability, lack of essence, suchness, non-erroneous suchness, non-different suchness, the element of dharma, the nature of dharma.
