When practicing the Perfection of Wisdom, form is not found at the prior limit, form is not found at the posterior limit, form is not found in the middle. From 'form is not found in the middle' up to 'omniscience itself is not found in the middle,' it shows that all phenomena such as form, in ultimate truth, are without substance. Therefore, striving to accomplish them is unnecessary, and abandoning them is also unnecessary, thus demonstrating this reason. If all phenomena such as form were substantial, they would exist in one of the three times: either at the prior limit, the posterior limit, or in the present moment. And if they were objects of perception, when examined with accurate wisdom, no substance would be found to exist in any of the three times. Therefore, one does not strive to accomplish them, nor does one abandon them for not accomplishing them, this is what is being shown. Then, the venerable Sharadvatiputra said to the Blessed One, 'From Sharadvatiputra, because the suchness of omniscience is profound, the Perfection of Wisdom is profound,' up to, it is said that the Perfection of Wisdom, which shows that all phenomena such as form are unobtainable in the three times, is not the domain of all sentient beings, and because it is difficult to realize and believe, it is said to be profound. The Blessed One said that the suchness of the nature of all phenomena such as form, which is without substance, is not manifest, therefore, the Perfection of Wisdom, which teaches in this way, is profound. It is said, 'Blessed One, the Perfection of Wisdom is immeasurable,' from 'the Perfection of Wisdom is immeasurable,' up to 'Sharadvatiputra, because omniscience is immeasurable, the Perfection of Wisdom is immeasurable,' it is said that the meaning of immeasurability is shown by immeasurability, that is, all phenomena such as form, in ultimate truth, are real.

Because there is no number. Because it is impossible to measure and say that the quantity and measure are only so much, therefore it means difficult to fathom. Question: World Honored One, how does a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practice the Prajnaparamita? It means: As the above-mentioned principle, all dharmas are not substantial in the ultimate sense, they are profound and difficult to fathom, and they are immeasurable, so they are not the object of practice for everything. The Prajnaparamita is also profound and difficult to fathom and immeasurable, so it is not the object of practice for everything. How does a Bodhisattva practice the Prajnaparamita? This is Shariputra's request for the method of practicing the Prajnaparamita. The World Honored One taught: Shariputra, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Prajnaparamita, if he does not practice "form is profound," etc., then he practices the Prajnaparamita. From "If you do not practice 'all-knowing wisdom is profound,' etc., then you practice the Prajnaparamita," it means: If all dharmas such as form are considered profound in the ultimate sense because they are empty of nature, and there is no discrimination, then it is practicing in a way that does not practice the Prajnaparamita, which is what is to be shown. Why? Shariputra, the profundity of form is not form, etc., until the profundity of all-knowing wisdom is not all-knowing wisdom, which means: For all dharmas such as form, there is no thought of profundity, and the non-discriminating Prajnaparamita is practice, which is the reason shown. All dharmas such as form, the so-called profundity refers to non-substantiality, and non-substantiality is not the nature of form, etc., so it is not the object of discrimination, which is what is to be shown. Shariputra, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Prajnaparamita, if he does not practice "form is difficult to fathom," etc., then he practices the Prajnaparamita.

From "thus" onwards. If one does not use the term "all-knowingness is unfathomable," then up to "engaging in the Prajñāpāramitā," it indicates that since all phenomena such as form are empty in nature, there is no concept of unfathomability, and there is no discrimination, then one is engaging in the Prajñāpāramitā. Why is that? Sharadvatiputra, from "the unfathomability of form is not form" to "the unfathomability of all-knowingness is not all-knowingness," it indicates that there is no concept of unfathomability for all phenomena such as form, and there is no discrimination, which is the reason for engaging in the Prajñāpāramitā. The term "unfathomable" for all phenomena such as form refers to the absence of things, and the absence of things is not the nature of form, etc., therefore it is not the object of discrimination. Thus, non-discrimination is engaging in the Prajñāpāramitā. Sharadvatiputra, furthermore, when a Bodhisattva Mahāsattva engages in the Prajñāpāramitā, if one does not use the term "form is immeasurable," then up to "engaging in the Prajñāpāramitā," and if one does not use the term "all-knowingness is immeasurable," then up to "engaging in the Prajñāpāramitā," it indicates that since all phenomena such as form are empty in nature, there is no concept of being called immeasurable, and there is no discrimination, then one is engaging in the Prajñāpāramitā. Why is that? Sharadvatiputra, from "the immeasurability of form is not form" to "the immeasurability of all-knowingness is not all-knowingness," it indicates that the concept of immeasurability does not arise for all phenomena such as form, and there is no discrimination, which is the reason for engaging in the Prajñāpāramitā. All phenomena such as form are called immeasurable.
