From "teaching them in this way" to "they teach in that way and show the image of the Prajñāpāramitā," it is with characteristics and with aims that one rejoices in the roots of virtue of the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, of the three times, and also teaches that the roots of virtue of rejoicing are completely dedicated to the unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment, but because it is taught with characteristics and with aims, it is not truly teaching the meaning of the Prajñāpāramitā, but it is an image of the Prajñāpāramitā. Indra asked: "Bhagavan, how should it be taught so that those sons or daughters of good family, those sons or daughters of good family of the Bodhisattva vehicle, will not show the image of the Prajñāpāramitā?" And so on, this is to explain that in order to counteract the showing of the image of the Prajñāpāramitā, teaching without grasping at characteristics and without aiming, is teaching the meaning of the Prajñāpāramitā as it is in reality. Do not truly look at form as impermanent. Why is that? Because form is empty by its very nature. Whatever is the nature of form, that is non-existent. This means that in the ultimate sense, form is empty by its very nature. Because it is non-existent, do not grasp at the characteristic of form as impermanent, and do not aim at it. Whatever is non-existent, that is the Prajñāpāramitā. Whatever is the Prajñāpāramitā, in that, one does not perceive form as permanent or impermanent. This means that in the ultimate sense, form is empty by its very nature, and realizing that it is non-existent is the Prajñāpāramitā. The Prajñāpāramitā that realizes in that way is non-conceptual, and in that, there is no conceptualization of form as permanent or impermanent. That is the meaning. If form itself does not exist there, then how could the view of permanent or impermanent exist? This means that form itself is empty by its very nature and non-existent in the ultimate sense, then the nature of form, permanent and imperm

This is to explain "how to observe correctly." To teach and instruct in this way is to truly reveal the true meaning of the Prajñāpāramitā, not to reveal the image of the Prajñāpāramitā. Just as the explanation of form, it should also be applied up to the attainment of all-knowingness. Kauśika! Furthermore, those sons or daughters of good families, sons or daughters of good families of the Bodhisattva vehicle, if someone asks them how to teach the Prajñāpāramitā, then they should teach that all dharmas are without acceptance or rejection, and teach the true meaning of the Prajñāpāramitā as it is. In this regard, do not completely transcend from any dharma, this is to explain that one should not, like the practitioners of the Lesser Vehicle, completely transcend from any dharma of saṃsāra. Do not abide in any dharma, this is to explain that one should not, like the practitioners of the Lesser Vehicle, abide in any dharma of nirvāṇa. Why is that? This is because, in the Prajñāpāramitā, there is no dharma from which to transcend or in which to abide. This is to explain the reason why one should not transcend from any dharma, nor should one abide in any dharma. Combining it with the meaning of the Prajñāpāramitā, this is to explain that, in the ultimate truth, the dharmas of saṃsāra and nirvāṇa do not exist, therefore there is nothing to transcend or to abide in. Why is that? This is because the dharma of emptiness of inherent existence of all dharmas is non-substantial. This is to explain the reason why both dharmas that can be transcended and those that can be abided in are non-substantial. This is to explain that, in the ultimate truth, all dharmas of saṃsāra and nirvāṇa are non-substantial because of their emptiness of inherent existence. Whatever is non-substantial is the Prajñāpāramitā. This is to explain that realizing non-substantiality in this way is the non-conceptual Prajñāpāramitā. Whatever is the Prajñāpāramitā, in it there is no dharma that can be taken, rejected, born, or ceased.

That which is called "is" means that for the non-discriminating Prajñāpāramitā, there is no discrimination of accepting the Dharma of Nirvana, nor is there any discrimination of abandoning the Dharma of Samsara, there is no discrimination of generating the Noble Path, nor is there any discrimination of ceasing the afflictive Dharmas that are contrary to the Noble Path, this is what is to be shown. Kauśika, those sons or daughters of good family who teach in that way do not show the image of the Prajñāpāramitā, which means that teaching all Dharmas without acceptance or rejection in the way described above is indeed teaching the true meaning of the Prajñāpāramitā, and not showing the image of the Prajñāpāramitā, this is what is to be shown. Kauśika, therefore, sons or daughters of good family should teach the meaning of the Prajñāpāramitā in that way. Kauśika, the accumulation of merit of those sons or daughters of good family who teach in that way will increase greatly, but not the former sons or daughters of good family, which means that if one teaches the meaning of the Prajñāpāramitā without clinging to signs and without focusing on them, merit will increase greatly, but if one clings to signs and focuses on them, and shows the image as mentioned above for the sake of the Prajñāpāramitā, merit will not increase greatly, that is the meaning. Kauśika, furthermore, if there are as many sentient beings in Jambudvipa, and some sons or daughters of good family place them in the fruit of stream-entry, from "What is the reason for that? Kauśika, because from this Prajñāpāramitā, there will be self-enlightened ones" in between, it refers to how many sentient beings there are in Jambudvipa, as well as the four continents, the thousand worlds, the two thousand worlds, the three thousand great thousand worlds, and each of the ten directions also has as many sentient beings as there are sands in the Ganges River, placing all of them in the fruit of stream-entry, once-returner, non-returner, Ar
