To. If one does not focus on all-knowingness, then even the Perfection of Wisdom itself cannot be properly seen in accordance with it, and so on. Therefore, in order to cultivate the four close placements of mindfulness, even when practicing the Perfection of Wisdom, one should only focus on attaining all-knowingness in the conventional truth. Apart from that, the Perfection of Wisdom and so on cannot be properly seen in accordance with it in the ultimate truth. This is what is to be explained. Similarly, from cultivating the correct abandonments up to cultivating the eighteen unshared qualities of the Buddha, it should be applied in this way. When a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, he thoroughly understands the characteristics of the Dharma of all phenomena. This means that not properly seeing the Perfection of Wisdom and so on in the ultimate truth is itself the meaning of thoroughly understanding and comprehending the ultimate nature of all phenomena. What is the nature of all phenomena? It is that which will not be completely defiled, nor will it be completely purified. This means that understanding the ultimate nature of all phenomena, because its nature is completely pure, will not be defiled even in the time of ordinary beings, nor will it be purified even in the time of noble ones, because the nature of Suchness does not change. Subhuti, in this way, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, he should comprehend the designations of names and terms for phenomena. This means that in this way, the merits of exhorting diligence are summarized and explained. Although in the ultimate truth all phenomena are unattainable and inexpressible, in the conventional truth one should comprehend that they are merely designations of names and terms, in order to exhort diligence. In this way, after he has comprehended the designations of names and terms for phenomena, he will not be attached to form, up to not being attached to purifying the Buddha-field. In this way, although in the conventional truth one only establishes names and terms and exhorts diligence,

In reality, no Dharma is seen at all, and the fruit of abiding in non-discrimination is shown to be non-attachment to all Dharmas, such as form, the world, and the transcendent. Why? Because, like this, there is no such thing as that which can be attached to, or that by which attachment is made, or that to which attachment is made. This is to show the reason for non-attachment, that is, the name of that which can be attached to, and the desire by which attachment is made, and the object to which attachment is made, all of which are not truly existent. Subhuti, thus a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva who practices Prajnaparamita, from the perfection of generosity increases, until the gates of Dharani will also be obtained, and the gates of Samadhi will also be obtained, thus showing the fruit of practicing without attachment to all Dharmas, that is, the qualities of the Bodhisattva, such as Paramita, will be obtained. Subhuti, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva who practices Prajnaparamita, should thus understand the Dharmas that are designated by name and designation, this is to show the conclusion of the instruction to strive by explaining the Dharmas with names and designations. After thus showing the instruction of explanation, now the instruction of not focusing on sentient beings will be shown, that is, when the venerable Subhuti asked for the first instruction of diligence, he asked by saying Bodhisattva-Mahasattva, in order to eliminate the doubt that some of the listeners think that there is such a real thing as a Bodhisattva, Subhuti, what is it that you say, Blessed One, Bodhisattva Bodhisattva? To that which was said, Subhuti, what do you think, etc., that is, if it is thought that a Bodhisattva is a real thing of sentient beings, and is discriminated as existing like the self and mine established by non-Buddhists, then there will be three kinds of discrimination, that is, form, etc. itself, or discriminating other than form, etc.,

In order to eliminate the attachment to things that are the basis and the abiding, and the attachment to things that do not belong to any of these, the Blessed One asked: Subhuti, what do you think? Is form a Bodhisattva? Or, is something other than form a Bodhisattva? Does a Bodhisattva exist in form? Does form exist in a Bodhisattva? Is something without form a Bodhisattva? Thus, five questions were asked. Among them, "Is form a Bodhisattva? Or, is something other than form a Bodhisattva?" shows that one should abandon the discrimination of thinking that form itself is a Bodhisattva, and thinking that something other than form is a Bodhisattva. "Does a Bodhisattva exist in form? Does form exist in a Bodhisattva?" shows that one should abandon the attachment to things that are the basis and the abiding. "Is something without form a Bodhisattva?" shows that one should abandon the attachment to things that do not belong to any of these. That is to say, neither conditioned nor unconditioned dharmas are Bodhisattvas. Other than these, there are no other Bodhisattvas. Bodhisattvas do not exist in these either. These do not exist in Bodhisattvas either. Bodhisattvas do not exist within any of these categories, nor are they independent existences unrelated to these. From "Is form a Bodhisattva?" to "Is something without aging and death a Bodhisattva?" it shows that Bodhisattvas are not the entities of conditioned dharmas. These conditioned dharmas do not belong to the categories of the five aggregates, the twelve ayatanas, the eighteen dhatus, the six dhatus such as the earth dhatu, and the internal twelve links of dependent origination. It should be understood that the Tathagata taught: Subhuti, what do you think? From "Is the suchness of form a Bodhisattva?" to "Subhuti, what do you think? Is the suchness of something without aging and death a Bodhisattva?" it shows that the so-called Bodhisattva is not the nature of unconditioned dharmas either.
