Therefore, it is counted as an accumulation of merit. Through wisdom, acting for the sake of enlightenment, it is counted as an accumulation of wisdom. Therefore, it is said that the perfection of generosity should be perfected in a way that does not abandon. Here, Bodhisattvas, from the first ground onwards, having realized suchness, all actions are examined in the ultimate sense. Seeing suchness directly, they abide in suchness, and not otherwise. That suchness, even when giving, cannot be given or taken by anyone. Therefore, in the ultimate sense, there is nothing called giving. Giving of food, drink, bedding, and so on, all abide in the imputed dharmas, like dreams and illusions, and are not real. Thus, the very absence of the characteristic of giving in the ultimate sense is called the way of non-abandonment. By the reasoning of non-abandonment, one does not perceive the object to be given, oneself as the giver, and the beggar as the receiver. Because it is devoid of the nature of non-perception, the perfection of generosity should be perfected. Initially, the cause is to abide in the conventional mode of the power of compassion, and to give according to worldly conduct. Then, by the power of wisdom, one abides in the ultimate mode, and by the power of transcendent conduct, if everything is completely examined by wisdom, then at that time, when everything becomes without an object of focus, it is called the perfection of generosity. Therefore, initially, the objects of focus of the generation of the mind, sentient beings and enlightenment, are not abandoned. Therefore, the name Bodhisattva also becomes meaningful. If the object to be given, the giver, and the receiver are imperceptible, and the giving is extremely contradictory, then how can it be made to act without contradiction? Skillful means become possible through the power of the perfections. The perfection of skillful means is compassion that grasps conventional truth and does not grasp

With the wisdom that contradicts each other, like the union of creatures that walk on land and those that walk in water, although it has been determined to be very contradictory, they become friends without contradiction in the manner of union, practicing together until enlightenment. If all accumulations of merit and wisdom are cultivated, it will become the supreme means of benefiting Bodhisattvas. From below, explanations of it will appear in various circumstances. In order not to generate downfalls, and especially in order not to generate downfalls, one should perfect the perfection of discipline. A Bodhisattva is one who, as a householder Bodhisattva, upholds the precepts of discipline, and as an ordained person, upholds the precepts of discipline. If one dwells having properly taken these, even if a downfall occurs, it will not exceed the time and generate a greater downfall, but will be quickly confessed. Therefore, it is said that it is for the sake of not generating downfalls, and especially for the sake of not generating downfalls. Here, too, one strives to abide in the Perfection of Wisdom, thinking, "I am endowed with discipline, I am discipline, this is the discipline of the immoral." Since the three concepts are not objectified, one should realize that the three circles are completely pure. Just as it will be said below, "I am endowed with discipline, this is discipline, this is the discipline of the immoral," one should not generate such arrogance. In order to be without disturbance, one should perfect the perfection of patience. This shows the nature of the perfection of patience, which is to be without disturbance towards the actions of sentient beings through the power of compassion, and to realize selflessness through the power of wisdom. Here also, since patience, what is to be endured, and harmful thoughts are not objectified, the three circles are completely pure, which will be explained in various circumstances from below. In order that the diligence of body and mind does not diminish, one should perfect the perfection of diligence. This shows entering into the perfection of diligence, constantly without laziness,

The concluding words are: 'One should perfect the perfection of diligence.' That which is irreversible is indeed transformed by wisdom and compassion. Here, too, because one possesses diligence and does not fixate on diligence and laziness, it becomes a perfection. Because there is no tasting of flavor, one should perfect the perfection of meditation. This means that if one enters meditation for one's own sake, one will taste the flavor of meditation. Thus, bodhisattvas denounce all actions done solely for their own benefit as if they were sins. How, then, could there be any attention to tasting the flavor of meditation? Therefore, from among the three meditations—those with afflictions, those that are pure, and those that are without outflows—one only abides in those that are pure and without outflows; one does not enter into those with afflictions. These are the concluding words. Here, too, because one possesses samadhi and does not fixate on samadhi and distraction, one will perfect the perfection. Because one does not fixate on all phenomena, one should perfect the perfection of wisdom. This means that because one sees only suchness, one does not fixate on all phenomena that are conventionally imputed, nor does one conceptualize the transcendent. Therefore, it becomes the perfection of wisdom. How, then, does one abide in the perfection of wisdom and perfect the perfection of wisdom? When the perfection of wisdom is called omniscience and the Great Vehicle, there will be no dispute. When it is called non-conceptual wisdom, one also thinks that there is no dharma of the perfection of wisdom in ultimate reality. Therefore, the perfection of wisdom, which is the nature of non-conceptualization, abides in the perfection of non-conceptual wisdom. At that time, the three realms and so forth are exhausted as mere suchness. Wisdom that arises conventionally, which belongs to the path of application, although it is of the nature of conceptualization, is perfected by non-conceptual wisdom.
