It is said that at that time, one should abide in the Prajnaparamita and strive diligently. Regarding "striving diligently in the Prajnaparamita," there are three types of diligence: diligence in learning, diligence in practice, and diligence in truly accomplishing. Among them, when listening, during times of contemplation, etc., it is diligence in learning. That is to say, one should learn the Prajnaparamita, which will be explained below. When practicing, it is diligence in practice. That is to say, one should practice the Prajnaparamita, which will be explained below. When fully realizing, it is diligence in truly accomplishing. That is to say, one should strive diligently. This will be explained below. "One should strive diligently" means that this is what should be done, it is the kind of thing that should be done. These explain the three ways of who does it, to whom it is done, and what is done. Because it is uncertain for the Hearers and Solitary Realizers, it should be done by the Bodhisattvas themselves. Because it is the root of all that should be accomplished, it should be done to the Prajnaparamita itself. One should strive diligently in ways such as without interruption, with respect, and with accomplishment. Here, the perfect fruit, the perfect cause, and the perfect application are explained. The so-called "manifestly and completely awakening to perfect enlightenment in all ways in all dharmas" is the fruit. The so-called "Prajnaparamita" is the cause. The so-called "one should strive diligently" is the application. Just as it is said in the Vajracchedika about abiding, practicing, and thoroughly grasping the mind. Similarly, here it is also said, "Because of desiring to manifestly and completely awaken to perfect enlightenment in all ways in all dharmas," this shows the perfect intention, therefore it is abiding. The so-called "one should strive diligently" is showing practice. The so-called "in the Prajnaparamita" is in order to strive diligently in the non-discriminating Prajnaparamita, therefore it shows thoroughly grasping the mind. Thus, due to the initial statement, for the benefit of those who understand, regarding the Prajnaparamita

After perfecting the pāramitā, the Blessed One became silent. After that, in order to distinguish the occasion when the venerable Śāriputra explained the middle part for the sake of those who wanted to understand, the Blessed One, the Bodhisattva Mahāsattva, desiring to fully awaken to all dharmas in all aspects, how should one strive in the Prajñāpāramitā? Thus, the request was initiated. Thus, he requested four aspects of the teaching that were briefly stated: How does one become a Bodhisattva Mahāsattva? How does one desire to fully awaken to all dharmas in all aspects? What is the Prajñāpāramitā? And how should one strive? These four aspects will be shown below according to the occasion. Among them, Śāradvatīputra, for this Bodhisattva Mahāsattva, abiding in the Prajñāpāramitā in a non-abiding manner, because there is no perception of giving, relinquishing, and receiving, therefore completely

As shown in the Diamond Sutra, the methods of abiding, practicing, and holding the mind. Among them, in the manner of non-abiding, "abiding in the Prajnaparamita" means abandoning the desire for the distinction of other fruits, generating the intention to benefit all sentient beings and accomplish happiness by the power of compassion, and by the power of wisdom, whether it is the three realms or all dharmas, not abiding in any place, this is called abiding in the Prajnaparamita. It means that not abiding in all places is abiding in the Prajnaparamita. Here, the so-called Prajnaparamita refers to the omniscient wisdom, or non-discriminating wisdom, or Mahayana. The practice that is in accordance with the path of Bodhi is practice, therefore it is said that the perfection of generosity should be fulfilled. Ultimately, not having any discriminating thoughts about all dharmas is the purity of the three wheels, therefore it is said that because there is no attachment to the object of generosity, the giver, and the receiver, generosity should be practiced in the manner of non-generosity. Bodhisattvas, driven by compassion, give all things that all sentient beings desire, but at this time it can only be called generosity, not the perfection of generosity. When generosity is practiced, or after generosity is given, it is observed with four kinds of observation, and understood with four kinds of knowledge as it is, and then purified with wisdom, at this time it is called Paramita because of good practice. Bodhisattvas first do all activities with compassion, and then purify them with wisdom. Therefore, compassion is the cause of practice, wisdom is the cause of purification, compassion is the cause of pure intention, wisdom is the cause of pure action, compassion is the cause of abiding in the conventional truth and practicing, wisdom is the cause of abiding in the ultimate truth and purifying, compassion is the cause of doing all activities for the benefit of all sentient beings.
