The samadhi that can be combined with (meditation) will be obtained. In that instant of samadhi, without being interrupted by other things, because one can obtain the fruit of constantly entering the stream, it is called "the samadhi immediately following." The so-called "with the samadhi immediately following, the wisdom vision of liberation will arise" means that obtaining the fruit of constantly entering the stream is called the wisdom vision of liberation. When the fruit of constantly entering the stream is obtained, for the noble ground and the undefiled Dharma that have not yet been obtained and seen, because they have been obtained and seen, it is also called the path of seeing. On the path of seeing, abandoning the obstacles and incompatible aspects, obtaining the wisdom of liberation from those, it is called the wisdom vision of liberation will arise. The so-called "with the wisdom vision of liberation, the three fetters of the view of the perishable aggregate, doubt, and adherence to rules and vows will be completely abandoned" means that when the fruit of constantly entering the stream is obtained in this way, the three fetters will be abandoned. Among them, the so-called "view of the perishable aggregate" means that for the five aggregates, which are gatherings with the nature of decay, one clings to them as the only, constant "self." Doubt means having doubts about the noble truths. Adherence to rules and vows means that one believes that one can attain liberation merely by guarding precepts and practicing asceticism. These three dharmas will not bring liberation and freedom, but will bind beings to samsara, causing them to be reborn continuously, therefore they are called the three fetters. The so-called "this person is called a stream-enterer" means that, like this, recognizing that a person who possesses the above-mentioned qualities is a stream-enterer. Such recognition is the meaning of the Dharma eye of a Bodhisattva. He makes greed and hatred very weak by diligently practicing the path of meditation. The so-called "this person is called a once-returner" means that after obtaining the fruit of stream-entry, what is before the path of seeing is called the path of cultivation. One should clearly recognize how to see the undefiled Dharma and the incompatible aspects.

To abandon (afflictions), repeatedly familiarizing oneself is called the path of cultivation. Desire is, attachment to the objects of desire in the desire realm is called desire. Ill-will is called the thought of harming other beings with hatred. Thus, a person who abides in the path of cultivation and diligently abandons desire and hatred is born once among humans and gods, and thereafter is not born among humans and gods, which is called a Once-Returner. By cultivating that path even more diligently, one obtains the state of completely abandoning desire and harmful intent, and this person is called a Non-Returner. Abiding in that path of cultivation, when attaining the state of a Once-Returner, completely abandoning all the subtle desire and hatred, one is no longer born among gods and humans, therefore it is called a Non-Returner. By cultivating that path even more diligently, the cause of the Arhat is shown by phrases such as "desire for the form realm." By abandoning desire for the form and formless realms, ignorance, pride, and agitation, it is shown that one attains the Arhat state. Desire for the form and formless realms is attachment to the taste of the samadhi of the four dhyanas of the form realm and the four formless absorptions of the formless realm. Ignorance is the obscuration of not understanding dhyana and samadhi. Pride is boasting about those dhyanas and samadhis themselves. Agitation is when abiding in dhyana and samadhi, the aspect of calm abiding is small and the aspect of insight is large, causing the mind to be distracted. Abandoning these faults, being free from the afflictions of the three realms, is called a person who is an Arhat. Knowing such a sequence of persons is called the Dharma eye of the Bodhisattvas. From "This person abides in the signless" to "This person is an Arhat" is the same as before, the difference being only that one abides in the door of liberation, the signless samadhi, and cultivates. From "This person abides in the wishless" to the person

Knowing that this is an Arhat, and even saying that the son of Sharadvati is the pure Dharma eye of a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva, the meaning is as previously stated. In particular, abiding in the wishless Samadhi, from entering the stream to attaining Arhatship, is merely that. Knowing thus is the Dharma eye of the Bodhisattvas, as it is taught. Furthermore, Sharadvati's son, whatever arises for a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva, all those are subject to cessation, and up to this is Sharadvati's son, the pure Dharma eye of a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva. On the ground of faith-practice, whatever phenomena of arising exist in the world and beyond the world, knowing that all those are subject to cessation, and thus obtaining the five faculties and so forth, such knowledge is also the pure Dharma eye of a Bodhisattva, as it is taught. 'Subject to arising' means 'subject to birth.' Furthermore, Sharadvati's son, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva, with the Dharma eye, this Bodhisattva-Mahasattva generates the first mind and practices the perfection of generosity, and up to this, Sharadvati's son, this is also the pure Dharma eye of a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva, the conduct and qualities of a Bodhisattva on the first ground are taught, and such knowledge is also said to be the pure Dharma eye of a Bodhisattva. Furthermore, Sharadvati's son, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva, this Bodhisattva-Mahasattva is prophesied to attain unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment, and up to this, Sharadvati's son, the pure Dharma eye of a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva, the nature, conduct, and qualities of Bodhisattvas from the second ground onwards are taught, and such knowledge is also the pure Dharma eye of a Bodhisattva.
