The word "so-called" is taken. Because the very question of "does it exist?" is unreasonable in the ultimate sense, is the existence or non-existence observable in the ultimate sense? Or will it exist? Subhuti (འཕགས་པ་རབ་འབྱོར།, Śrāvastī native, one of the ten great disciples of Shakyamuni) asked Shariputra (ཤཱ་རིའི་བུ།, one of the ten great disciples of Shakyamuni) in return. He said, "Venerable Subhuti, it is not like that," meaning that the so-called "existence or non-existence" is also not observable or existent in the ultimate sense. If that is the case, for that which is not mind, there is no such thing as "existence or non-existence," nor is it observable. Then, Venerable Sharadvatiputra, you said, "For which mind is called non-mind, does that exist?" Is it reasonable to ask back like that? This is Subhuti repeating the words of Sharadvatiputra, meaning that if existence or non-existence is not observable in the ultimate sense, then it is also unreasonable for you to ask me, "Does that which is called non-mind exist?" He said, "Venerable Subhuti, what is non-mind?" This is to introduce the topic from the question, that is, what is the meaning of the nature of mind being unobservable in the ultimate sense? In order to explain in detail the meaning of all forms and other phenomena being unchanging and non-discriminating, in order to distinguish the occasions, the noble Shariputra asked the noble Subhuti. The so-called non-mind is unchanging and non-discriminating, meaning that in the ultimate sense, the so-called non-mind does not refer to a separate thing that exists apart from the mind, but rather refers to the suchness of the mind, which is naturally luminous, and does not discriminate or think about the grasper and the grasped, etc. This is called non-mind, thus it is taught. This is the suchness of all phenomena, and it is called mindlessness and inconceivable. This is to clearly show the meaning mentioned above, that is, the suchness of the mind, which is unchanging and naturally luminous, is the same as the suchness and nature of all phenomena without difference. Therefore, the suchness of all phenomena is also the same, because it is not the object of those with discrimination, it is called inconceivable, thus it is taught. He said, "Venerable Subhuti, what? Just as the mind is unchanging and non-discriminating, so is form also.

From "Is it unchanging and without conceptualization?" to "Likewise, is the state of all-knowing also unchanging and without conceptualization?" is a question about whether the suchness of the mind and the suchness of all phenomena, such as form, are the same in that they are unchanging and without conceptualization. Subhuti replied: "Venerable Sharadvatiputra, it is so. Just as the mind is unchanging and without conceptualization, so is form unchanging and without conceptualization." From "Likewise, is the state of all-knowing also unchanging and without conceptualization?" is the answer to the question asked by the noble Shariputra, given by the noble Subhuti. The meaning of unchanging and without conceptualization has already been explained. Then, "The venerable Shariputra gave the venerable Subhuti a 'Well done!'" and so on, is praise for the fact that the meaning of the unchanging and non-conceptual nature of all phenomena has been well explained. "You are a son of the Bhagavan, born from the heart" is because it arises from the nature of the heart, the union of calm abiding and insight. "Born from the mouth" is because it arises from the transmission of the Dharma spoken from the mouth. "Born from the Dharma" is because it arises from the Dharma of practice, the nature of thought and meditation. "An emanation of the Dharma" is because it arises from the realization of the fruit of the path, the undefiled Dharma. "A share of the Dharma" is because one has power over the Dharma of Nirvana. "Not a share of material things" is because one has abandoned miserliness. "Possessing the manifest eye for all phenomena" is because the dharmata of phenomena is indistinguishable by others. "The body has become manifest" is because it has been manifested by the dhyana of form and formlessness, and the body of samadhi. "Among the Shravakas, the best of those who are without affliction and who practice purely" is because abiding in the samadhi that is the antidote to affliction is called practicing purely.
