All perfect qualities have been shown. As for what is called abandoning burdens, there are four kinds of burdens: the burden of aggregates, the burden of afflictions, the burden of promises, and the burden of diligence. Among them, by fully understanding the truth of suffering, one abandons the burden of aggregates. By abandoning the origin, one abandons the burden of afflictions. By meditating on the path, one abandons the burden of promises. By realizing cessation, one should know that one has abandoned the burden of diligence. As for what is called thoroughly obtaining one's own benefit, there are two ways to obtain one's own benefit: abandoning what is not beneficial and accomplishing the benefit that is sought. Among them, by abandoning ignorance, all the obscurations of afflictions are abandoned, which is abandoning what is not beneficial. By generating wisdom, obtaining nirvana is accomplishing the benefit that is sought. As for what is called completely exhausting all connections to existence, it refers to abandoning the nine afflictions that connect to existence. What are the nine afflictions that connect to existence? They are the connection of views, the connection of holding as supreme, the connection of doubt, the connection of jealousy, the connection of miserliness, the connection of anger, the connection of pride, the connection of ignorance, and the connection of craving's desire. These afflictions connect sentient beings to birth in samsara, therefore they are called connections to existence. As for what is called the mind being completely liberated by the correct teaching, the correct teaching of the Tathagata refers to the correct view. By becoming accustomed to the correct view, all the obscurations of afflictions are completely abandoned, and the mind becomes completely pure, which is called the mind being completely liberated by the correct teaching. As for what is called obtaining the supreme transcendence over all the powers of the mind, it shows the qualities of obtaining power over the mind through the strength of being accustomed to meditation and samadhi. By obtaining power over the mind, one can enter into the four dhyanas, the four formless absorptions, and the cessation absorption in accordance with the rules, not in accordance with the rules, and transcendently.

Without obstruction, being able to abide in samadhi as desired, therefore, the mind is completely mastered and perfected in all samadhis, that is the meaning. Except for one person, like this, the venerable Ananda who is studying to enter the stream, refers to the venerable Ananda, who at that time had attained the fruit of entering the stream and was studying to become an arhat. All the others were already arhats and were not included in the mention of qualities such as "exhausted of outflows," because only he was a stream-enterer, and all the others were arhats, that is the meaning. Having thus described the sangha of monks, in order to describe the sangha of nuns, upasakas, and upasikas, it was said that there were about five hundred nuns including Bhikshuni Grakdzin, Mahaprajapati Gotami, and many upasakas and upasikas, all of whom had seen the Dharma. The phrase "all of whom had seen the Dharma" means that all of them had directly seen the truth, that is the meaning. The words "Bodhisattva Mahasattvas, immeasurable and countless," etc., are to show the perfection of the Bodhisattva assembly. The reason why a definite measure and number were not mentioned is that they were all gathered from various different realms, and because of the large number, the measure and number were not specified. There are also five types of Bodhisattvas: those with pure superior intention, those who abide without characteristics with effort, those who abide spontaneously accomplished without characteristics, those who have entered into definite conduct, and those who are one birth away from enlightenment. Among these, those who abide from the first bhumi to the sixth bhumi are those with pure superior intention. The seventh bhumi is those who abide without characteristics with effort. The eighth bhumi is those who abide spontaneously accomplished without characteristics. The ninth bhumi is those who have entered into definite conduct. The tenth bhumi should be known as those who are one birth away from enlightenment. The words "all have attained excellent dharani," etc., are to show the perfection of the qualities of those Bodhisattvas. Among them, dharani refers to the ability to completely understand the meaning and words of all dharmas.
