When practicing the Great Perfection of Wisdom, saying "not seeing the arising of form, not seeing the cessation" and so on, this is to show the reason for becoming omniscient. Because all phenomena such as form are without substance in ultimate reality, and without substance there is no birth, no cessation, no taking, no abandoning, no complete defilement, no purification, no etcetera, no decrease, no diminution, and no increase. Therefore, one does not regard birth and cessation as existent, nor does one cling to characteristics. Because one is not attached to any of these, it is shown that one will become omniscient. Among these, "not seeing the arising of form" means that in ultimate reality, form is without substance, so arising is also impossible. "Not seeing cessation" means that since there is no arising, there is also no cessation. "Not seeing taking" means that in ultimate reality, form is without substance, so there is nothing to take or obtain. "Not seeing abandoning" means that since there is no taking, there is also no abandoning, which is the opposite of taking. "Not seeing complete defilement" means that since there is no abandoning, there is no object with faults, whose nature is complete defilement, to be abandoned. "Not seeing purification" means that since there is no complete defilement, there is also no purification, which is the opposite of it. "Not seeing etcetera" means that in ultimate reality, form is without substance, so there is no accumulation or piling up of particles, etcetera, to become aggregates. "Not seeing decrease" means that since there is no etcetera, there is also no decrease, which is the opposite of it. "Not seeing diminution" means that since there is no substantial form with the nature of defilement, qualities, etcetera, do not diminish or deteriorate due to defilements. "Not seeing increase" means that in ultimate reality, there is no purified object, so qualities, etcetera, do not increase or expand. Why is that? Because form is without its own nature and is not perceived as form, that is to say

This is to show the reason for the absence of arising and ceasing of form, etc. It is shown that in ultimate truth, form has no inherent nature and is invisible. Similarly, feeling, etc., should be applied up to the point of all-knowingness. Sharadvatiputra, in this way, Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas, because all dharmas are without arising, without ceasing, without taking, without discarding, without defilement, without purification, without addition, without subtraction, without decrease, and without increase, they train in the Perfection of Wisdom in a way that is neither learning nor arising, and they will attain all-knowingness. The above says that if one does not see the arising and ceasing of dharmas, etc., and does not grasp at characteristics, one will attain all-knowingness. This is a concluding explanation of that meaning. Therefore, one trains in the Perfection of Wisdom and attains all-knowingness because all dharmas are empty of inherent nature, invisible, and these dharmas have no arising, ceasing, etc. In reality, both training and attainment occur in an invisible way. Then, the Lord of the Gods, Indra, said to the Venerable Sharadvatiputra: Venerable Sharadvatiputra, where should Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas seek the Perfection of Wisdom? This is because if one trains in the Perfection of Wisdom, one will attain all-knowingness. If Indra understands the meaning of what was said above, he will ask: Then, where should one seek such a Perfection of Wisdom that can attain all-knowingness? Sharadvatiputra said: Lord of the Gods, the Perfection of Wisdom of Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas should be sought in the chapter of Subhuti. The chapter of Subhuti refers to all explanations of the intermediate Perfection of Wisdom, which are called the chapter of Subhuti. The above says that from the chapter of Subhuti, one can obtain all-knowingness.

In order to explain the profound meaning of the Prajñāpāramitā that can be attained, it is said that the Prajñāpāramitā should be sought from the Subhūti chapter. The profound meaning of the Prajñāpāramitā means that it should be examined there. Then, the Lord of the Gods, Indra, said to the venerable Subhūti: Venerable Subhūti, the son of the venerable Śāradvatī said: Bodhisattvas Mahāsattvas should seek the Prajñāpāramitā from the Subhūti chapter. That is your power, your blessing. This means that Śāriputra said that the Prajñāpāramitā should be sought from the Subhūti chapter, Subhūti explained the meaning of the middle Prajñāpāramitā, and Śāriputra realized it and pointed out the source. This is because Subhūti explained the meaning of the Prajñāpāramitā very well to Śāriputra, and with the power and blessing, Śāriputra said that, which is a praise to Subhūti. Subhūti said: Kauśika, that is the power of the Tathāgata, that is the blessing of the Tathāgata. This means that I also explain the profound meaning of the Prajñāpāramitā with the power and blessing of the Tathāgata. Indra said: Venerable Subhūti, if all dharmas have no blessing, why do you say that this is the power of the Tathāgata, this is the blessing of the Tathāgata? The so-called power and blessing mean that if there are some things, then with their power and blessing, things like teaching the Dharma will appear. If all dharmas do not exist in the ultimate sense, and there is no blessing, then why do you say that? This is what Indra said to Subhūti. Even outside the Dharma nature without blessing, the Tathāgata is not seen to exist. This means that in the ultimate sense, the Dharma nature without blessing and the Tathāgata are both one in emptiness, so there is no difference and they are inseparable.
