So. Venerable Subhuti, how is it that the mind of dedication does not accompany the mind of enlightenment? How is it that the mind of enlightenment does not accompany the mind of dedication? How is it that the mind of dedication is not present and not perceived in the mind of enlightenment? How is it that the mind of enlightenment is not present and not perceived in the mind of dedication? That is to say, the mind of dedication and the mind of enlightenment, in terms of ultimate truth, are without substance and inconceivable. In order to explain the meaning in detail, Indra asked Subhuti. Subhuti said: Kausika, whatever is the mind of dedication, that is not mind. Whatever is the mind of enlightenment, that is also not mind. Thus, whatever is not mind is inconceivable. Whatever is inconceivable is not mind. Not mind, then there is no dedication as not mind. Inconceivable, there is also no dedication as inconceivable. Thus, whatever is not mind is inconceivable. Whatever is inconceivable is not mind. Kausika, this is the Prajnaparamita of the Bodhisattva Mahasattva. That is to say, the root of virtue, the mind of dedication and the mind of enlightenment, both are not mind because they are not established as truly existent in ultimate truth. Thus, what is not mind is inconceivable. Thus, for what is inconceivable and not mind, having fully understood that there is no dedication,

Remembering kindness should be done. Not remembering kindness should not be done, etc., is the Blessed One's praise to Subhuti, saying: "You are so good at teaching the Prajnaparamita to the Bodhisattva Mahasattvas and generating faith!" In response, I say: "The way I teach the Prajnaparamita to the Bodhisattvas is that the Buddhas of the past, when they were Bodhisattvas, were also taught and shown the six paramitas by the Shravaka Arhats of the past. Because of this, those Bodhisattvas manifested the Unsurpassed Perfect Enlightenment. Likewise, if I also teach and show the six paramitas to the Bodhisattvas, those Bodhisattvas will also learn in that order and manifest the Unsurpassed Perfect Enlightenment. In this way, if I teach, I will be acting in accordance with the conduct of the noble Shravaka Arhats of the past. By following the teachings of the noble ones of the past, I will be remembering their kindness and repaying their kindness." This is the explanation. Among them, teaching is: "Do not do what is not to be done, such as sinful and unwholesome dharmas." This is the first teaching. Showing is: "Do these virtuous dharmas." This is to introduce virtue. Making joyful is: "For those who do not know the object of diligent practice, show them the object of practice and cultivation, thereby making them joyful." Encouraging correctly is: "When entering into practice and cultivation, because one has not obtained the teachings and oral instructions well, lead them from mistaken and inverted practice to correct practice in the correct object." Praising well is: "For those who are not diligent in practice and cultivation due to faults such as laziness, generate joy and cause them to initiate diligence." Making extremely joyful is: "For those who practice well and cultivate without inversion, praise them by saying, 'Good!' thereby generating joy and delight in cultivation." Placing, etc., means: "The ultimate result of such practice and cultivation is to place them on the noble path." Making extremely stable means:

The fruit of meditating on this path is to make it firmly established there. Then, the venerable Subhuti said to Indra, the lord of the gods: Kauśika, therefore, be sure to listen carefully and keep it in mind. How should a Bodhisattva Mahasattva abide in the Perfection of Wisdom, and how should he not abide? I will explain. Etc. Previously, Indra, the lord of the gods, asked Subhuti: How should a Bodhisattva Mahasattva abide in the Perfection of Wisdom? As an answer to this question, Subhuti explained in detail how a Bodhisattva Mahasattva should abide in the Perfection of Wisdom. Kauśika, form is empty of formness, etc., refers to the fact that from the five aggregates such as form to the all-knowingness, all phenomena mentioned by name in the world and beyond the world are empty of their own nature in the ultimate truth. A Bodhisattva who understands emptiness in this way is also empty of the nature of a Bodhisattva in the ultimate truth. The emptiness of phenomena such as form, and the emptiness of the Bodhisattva, are of one taste in emptiness, without difference, and are non-dual and indivisible in them. It is said that it is abiding in the Perfection of Wisdom. Then, Indra, the lord of the gods, said to the venerable Subhuti: Venerable Subhuti, how should a Bodhisattva Mahasattva abide in the Perfection of Wisdom? Subhuti replied: Kauśika, here, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, he should not abide in form in the manner of clinging, etc., which means that by completely abandoning non-abiding, he explains abiding in the Perfection of Wisdom. The so-called non-abiding is the very knowledge of not abiding in the manner of clinging to phenomena such as form up to all-knowingness.
