Because he could answer without hesitation any questions about the meaning of unborn and so on, the Blessed One praised him, saying, 'Among the Shravaka disciples, Subhuti, you are the most excellent.' This is the meaning here. Subhuti said, 'Venerable Sharadvatiputra, the Blessed One's Shravaka disciples have the Dharma nature of not abiding in all Dharmas, and they can answer without obstruction whatever they are asked.' Subhuti said this to introduce the discussion of the non-abiding of all Dharmas that follows. 'The Blessed One's Shravaka disciples have the Dharma nature of not abiding in all Dharmas,' this means that the noble Shravaka Arhats, by the blessing of the Blessed One, realize that all Dharmas are empty of inherent existence, therefore these Dharmas do not abide in anything and are not attached, which shows their nature. Why? Because all Dharmas do not abide.' This is the reason why the Blessed One's Shravaka disciples do not abide in all Dharmas: all Dharmas of the world and beyond are empty of inherent existence in ultimate truth, therefore they do not abide in anything internal or external, so the noble Shravaka disciples also do not abide in all Dharmas. Shariputra asked, 'Venerable Subhuti, how is it that all do not abide?' This is to explain in detail the reason why all Dharmas such as form do not abide, so Shariputra asked Subhuti. Subhuti replied, 'Venerable Sharadvatiputra, form is empty of inherent existence, therefore it does not abide internally, it does not abide externally, and it does not abide where there is neither internal nor external.' This means that in ultimate truth, form has no inherent existence, therefore it does not abide in the internal senses, nor does it abide in the external objects, and since there is nothing other than internal and external, it does not abide there either. Just as it is with form, so it should be applied to all Dharmas such as feeling, up to all-knowingness. Venerable Sharadvatiputra, therefore, all Dharmas do not abide because they are empty of inherent existence.' This means all Dharmas of the world and beyond.

Therefore, because all transcendent dharmas are intrinsically empty in ultimate truth, they do not abide in either internal or external realms. This summarizes and elucidates the meaning explained earlier. Sharadvatiputra, the son of good fortune, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the six perfections, one should thus purify form. From 'one should purify' to 'one should purify all-knowingness,' thus understanding that all worldly and transworldly dharmas do not abide in either internal or external realms is to understand that all dharmas such as form are of a pure nature. Therefore, one should purify form and so forth up to all-knowingness in the manner described above, which is to explain that one should thus understand purity. Then, the Venerable Sharadvatiputra said to the Venerable Subhuti, 'Venerable Subhuti, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the six perfections, how does one purify the path to enlightenment?' This is because after explaining the meaning of all dharmas being without abiding, in order to explain the means of purifying the path to enlightenment, Shariputra asked Subhuti how to purify the path to enlightenment. Subhuti said, 'Venerable Sharadvatiputra, there is both worldly and transworldly generosity perfection.' And so on, this is to distinguish and explain in detail the differences in the practice of the six perfections when the three circles are not purified and when the three circles are purified, that is, practicing the six perfections such as generosity when the three circles are not purified is worldly and cannot purify the path to enlightenment; while practicing the six perfections when the three circles are purified is transworldly and therefore can purify the path to enlightenment. Asked, 'Venerable Subhuti, what is worldly generosity perfection? What is transworldly generosity perfection?' This is because Subhuti said earlier that the six perfections have worldly and

In short, there are also those who transcend the world. Shariputra asked, "What is worldly, and what is beyond the world?" He asked, distinguishing them specifically. Rabyor said, "O venerable son of Sharadvati, to this Bodhisattva Mahasattva who performs generosity and becomes a benefactor, etc., Rabyor speaks of the worldly perfection of generosity. Ascetics, Brahmins, the poor, the hungry, the thirsty, and beggars are the objects of generosity, indicating the recipients. To those who desire food, give food; to those who desire drink, give drink, etc., these indicate the objects of material generosity. There are also three types of material generosity: ordinary generosity, great generosity, and difficult generosity. Among them, ordinary generosity is: to those who desire food, give food; to those who desire drink, give drink, until giving any other human necessities. Here, 'vehicle' refers to a riding tool. Great generosity is: to those who desire a son, give a son; to those who desire a daughter, give a daughter; to those who desire a wife, give a wife; to those who desire a kingdom, give a kingdom. Difficult generosity is: to those who desire a head, give a head; to those who desire eyes, give eyes; to those who desire limbs and parts, give limbs and parts; to those who desire flesh and blood and bones, give flesh and blood and bones. 'Residing and giving' means giving generosity with the three circles not purified and with attachment. From 'I am giving, this is the receiver' to 'This is called the worldly perfection of generosity,' it refers to giving generosity with a mind that is not purified in the three circles and has attachment. Why is this called the worldly perfection of generosity? Because it does not transcend the world, is not superior, and does not exceed it, therefore it is the worldly generosity of
