And "not because of being separated from anything" and so on, from the perspective of complete purification, it shows that all dharmas are of the nature of non-entity. It is not because of being separated from the impurities belonging to the opposing side that it becomes pure, but it shows that it is because of its own nature being pure. Shariputra, the venerable one, furthermore, all dharmas are beyond the world, so-called "not because of being separated from anything" and so on, from the perspective of being beyond the world, it shows that all dharmas are of the nature of non-entity. It is not because of being separated from the impure dharmas of the world that it becomes beyond the world, but it shows that because all dharmas are empty in their own nature, without arising and ceasing, they are beyond the world. Shariputra, the venerable one, furthermore, all dharmas are unconditioned, so-called "not because of being separated from anything" and so on, from the perspective of the unconditioned, it shows that all dharmas are of the nature of non-entity. It is not that there is a conditioned thing, and because of being separated from it, it becomes unconditioned, but it shows that because all dharmas are of the nature of Suchness, they are unconditioned. Shariputra, the venerable one, furthermore, all dharmas are not permanent, not annihilated, so-called "not permanent, not annihilated" and so on, from the perspective of not permanent and not annihilated, it shows that all dharmas are of the nature of non-entity. If all these imputed dharmas were truly existent, then they would be of the nature of permanence, that is, constantly existing, or of the nature of impermanence, that is, of the nature of destruction. But in reality, all these dharmas are not established as truly existent, therefore they are not of the nature of permanence and annihilation, this is shown. Why is that? The so-called "its nature is such," this is to show the reason why form is not permanent, not annihilated, that is, it shows that because of the emptiness of its own nature, form is not permanent, not annihilated. Similarly, all dharmas from feeling and so on up to unpolluted dharmas should be applied in this way. Shariputra, the venerable one, if someone says this: Why does form not appear, etc., that is

Previously, Shariputra asked the Venerable Subhuti, saying, "Why are phenomena such as form not manifestly established?" The Venerable Subhuti repeated the question and then replied, "Because the five aggregates, such as form, are not manifestly accumulated, therefore they are not manifestly established." Why is that? Because saying 'form has no manifest accumulation' and so on, this shows the reason why phenomena are not manifestly accumulated. Because all phenomena are empty of inherent existence, there is no agent that manifestly accumulates, therefore they are not manifestly accumulated." Just as with form, it should be combined up to the eighteen unshared qualities of the Buddha. Venerable Sharadvatiputra, therefore, form is not manifestly established. Feeling is not manifestly established. Perception is not manifestly established. Formation is not manifestly established. Consciousness is not manifestly established. Thus, since all phenomena have no agent of manifest accumulation, therefore they are not manifestly established, the Venerable Subhuti concluded and showed this meaning. Venerable Sharadvatiputra, furthermore, saying like this, "Why is it that the Venerable Subhuti, whatever is not manifestly established, that is not form," and so on, this is the question that Shariputra previously asked the Venerable Subhuti, "Why is it that whatever is not manifestly established, that is not form," and so on. The Venerable Subhuti repeated the question and then replied, as an answer to that question, the phenomena from form and so on up to the eighteen unshared qualities of the Buddha, because they are empty of inherent existence, have no birth and death, and do not change from their abiding state, therefore, whatever is not manifestly established, that is not the nature of form and so on. Venerable Sharadvatiputra, therefore, whatever is not manifestly accumulated, that is not form, up to whatever is not manifestly accumulated, that is not omniscience. Thus, since all phenomena are empty of inherent existence, they have no birth and death, therefore they are not manifestly accumulated. Thus, whatever is not manifestly accumulated and not manifestly established, those phenomena from the five aggregates such as form up to omniscience are not the nature of anything.
