What is that samadhi called the stainless lamp? Abiding in that samadhi, it makes the lamp of all samadhis stainless. It is said that if one enters into samadhi in that samadhi, the wisdom of all samadhis will become clear, which is called the stainless lamp. The lamp here refers to wisdom. Just as the light of a lamp illuminates and removes darkness, and clearly sees the objects to be seen, so does the stainless wisdom remove the darkness of ignorance, and clearly sees the true meaning to be known, hence it is said so. What is that samadhi called immeasurable light? Abiding in that samadhi, it produces immeasurable light. It is said that if one enters into samadhi in that samadhi, the power of it will generate immeasurable light that pervades immeasurable worlds, which is called immeasurable light. What is that samadhi called making light? It is said that as soon as one obtains this samadhi, it can make the light of all samadhis. It is said that by the power of obtaining that samadhi, it can make the miraculous light of all other samadhis appear, hence it is called making light. What is that samadhi called all-illuminating? It is said that as soon as one obtains this samadhi, it can manifest the doors of all samadhis. That is, if one is in equipoise in that samadhi, one understands the opposing aspects of all samadhis, and the obscurations such as afflictions are removed by the clear light of wisdom. This is called the stainless light. What is the samadhi called the one that causes joy? It is said that abiding in that samadhi, one will experience the joy of all samadhis. That is, if one is in equipoise in that samadhi, one will experience the joy of understanding the ultimate Dharma of all samadhis. This is called the one that causes joy. What is the samadhi called the lamp of lightning? It is said that abiding in that samadhi, it acts as the lamp of all samadhis. That is, by the power of being in equipoise in that samadhi, the miraculous light of all samadhis arises like lightning. This is called the lamp of lightning. What is the samadhi called the inexhaustible? It is said that abiding in that samadhi, one does not truly see the exhaustion of all samadhis and the inexhaustible. That is, if one is in equipoise in that samadhi, the power of all samadhis will not diminish or be exhausted, and the understanding of exhaustion and non-exhaustion will not arise. This is called the inexhaustible. What is the samadhi called the glorious one? It is said that abiding in that samadhi, the glory of all samadhis blazes with splendor. That is, if one is in equipoise in that samadhi, the power of all other samadhis has the majesty that cannot be overcome by obstacles such as demons, and it becomes endowed with the splendor of all transcendent perfections. This is called the glorious one. What is the samadhi called the one free from exhaustion? It is said that abiding in that samadhi, one sees that all samadhis are inexhaustible, even to the extent of a mote of dust.
