The term "earth is the characteristic of manifestation" refers to the fact that the wisdom of omniscience clearly comprehends all objects to be known without any obscuration or hindrance, like an amalaka fruit placed in the palm of one's hand. This is because it is impermanent and indestructible. The phrase "all conditioned dharmas, and all unconditioned dharmas, with their respective characteristics, all those dharmas are empty" is a concise explanation of the meaning of emptiness of self-nature. In short, all unconditioned dharmas are not substantial in ultimate truth, so their characteristics do not exist, hence they are empty. The phrase "what is the emptiness of non-apprehension?" and so on, refers to the explanation of the emptiness of non-apprehension. The past has become non-substantial, the future has not yet become substantial, and the present, which arises, does not abide due to its momentary nature, hence it is called non-apprehension. However, non-apprehension itself is not substantial, so it is called the emptiness of non-apprehension. The phrase "what is the emptiness of the nature of non-substantiality?" and so on, refers to the explanation of the emptiness of the nature of non-substantiality. The phrase "all dharmas arise dependently, therefore there is no nature of aggregation" means that when all dharmas arise, they arise from the power of the aggregation of causes and conditions, and there is no self-arising that does not depend on others. Whatever arises dependent on other causes and conditions is not truly arisen, and whatever arises from aggregation is without self-nature. Therefore, it is said that "aggregation is empty of aggregation," meaning that those that arise from the aggregation of causes and conditions are not truly arisen, so they are empty of the nature of aggregation. Subhuti, furthermore, the phrase "substance is empty of substance" and so on, refers to explaining the emptiness of the nature of non-substantiality in another way. By mentioning non-substance, substance is also established. By mentioning both substance and non-substance, and both one's own substance and another's substance

It is also necessary to investigate incidentally. Therefore, things are empty by things. Non-things are empty by non-things. Self-nature is empty by self-nature. Other things are empty by other things, which are divided into four ways to explain. Among them, what is a thing-thing? etc., dividing things and non-things into four ways, it explains that what is said is emptiness. Explaining that both things and non-things are empty is completely self-contradictory. If asked, how is self-nature empty by self-nature? etc., this shows the emptiness of self. That thing of self is also not something that can be made because it has no self-nature. Therefore, it is said that it is not made by knowledge, not made by seeing. Knowledge refers to non-discriminating wisdom. Seeing refers to the pure worldly wisdom that arises after the non-discriminating wisdom of seeing. Because knowledge and seeing have not made it, it is emptiness. Among them, what is the emptiness of other things? etc., this shows the emptiness of other things. The very nature of Dharma and the Dharma realm, etc., these belong to the synonyms of Suchness, whether the Tathagatas appear in the world or do not appear in the world, the Dharma nature of all Dharmas is originally abiding as such. For them, the non-thing of other Dharmas such as aggregates, that itself is called the emptiness of other things. Subhuti, furthermore, the Mahayana of Bodhisattva Mahasattva is like this, the Samadhi called Heroic Progress, etc., this shows that Samadhi is Mahayana. Among them, the common meaning of Samadhi is that from the non-discriminating wisdom of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, entering into Samadhi with the characteristic of one-pointedness of mind, by the power of previous actions and aspirations, causing sentient beings to fully mature, and causing Buddha lands to be completely purified, etc., various supernatural powers are naturally accomplished, and because of these differences, various different names are established to show.

From the samadhi called "Courageous Going" and so on, to the samadhi called "Like space, without accumulation, liberated and without attachment," these are the names of the samadhis. Chapter Eight of the Extensive Explanation of the Hundred Thousand Prajnaparamita Sutra. Chapter Nine, the Samadhi Chapter. Starting from "What is the samadhi called Courageous Going?" and so on, it explains the names and meanings of the samadhis in accordance with their meanings. What is the samadhi called Courageous Going? That samadhi practices in the realm of all samadhis. Just as a brave person can protect his own country and also protect the country of others, if one enters into this samadhi, one can realize in the ultimate truth that all dharmas are unborn in one's own realm and in the realm of all other samadhis. In the conventional truth, with the result of samadhi, one can perform various kinds of benefits for sentient beings, and because it has such power, it is like courageous going, so it is called Courageous Going. The word "going" here refers to realization or discernment. What is the samadhi called "Jewel Seal"? That samadhi makes all samadhis become like sealed with a seal. If one enters into that samadhi, all the samadhis in one's own and others' minds will not deviate from their respective realms, and they will have the power to abide as if they were sealed with a seal, so it is called Jewel Seal. The reason why it is precious is that this samadhi is not the realm of all, and it is rare. What is the samadhi called "Lion's Play"? Abiding in that samadhi, and being played by all samadhis, just as a lion is not afraid of all beasts, and can subdue all beasts and animals and roam around, if one enters into that samadhi, one can subdue all Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas, and have the power to act on all, so it is called Lion's Play. The word "play" here refers to action.
