Furthermore, "unmade" and so forth, the Blessed One declared in accordance with reason, consistent with Subhuti's explanation of the meaning of being without armor. In the world, one dons armor to accomplish something, to destroy something, or to repair something. However, the All-Knowing, in terms of ultimate truth, is inherently empty, having nothing to do, nothing to destroy, and nothing to repair. Moreover, for the sake of which sentient beings would one don armor? Those sentient beings, in terms of ultimate truth, are also inherently empty, having nothing to do, nothing to destroy, and nothing to repair. Understanding this way, not clinging to real entities, is what is meant by donning great armor, as explained here. Among these, "unmade" indicates that there is no real entity, hence nothing to do. "Non-made" indicates that there is nothing to destroy. "Non-manifestly made" indicates that there is nothing to repair. Subhuti, because the agent has no object of focus, the All-Knowing is unmade, non-made, non-manifestly made, and so forth, which is to explain the reason for being unmade, undestroyed, and unrepaired. Why is that? Subhuti, like this, form is not made, not non-made, not manifestly made, and so forth, which is to explain the reason for the agent having no object of focus. Even if there were an agent, worldly phenomena such as form, or perfections such as generosity, up to and including the All-Knowing, if there were a dharma that transcends the world, even if one were to examine their individual characteristics in conventional terms, the characteristic of an agent cannot be established. In terms of ultimate truth, they are also utterly unattainable, hence the agent is unattainable, as explained here. Subhuti, thus, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva donning great armor is said to be donning the armor of no armor, as explained here, which is to conclude the explanation of the meaning of being without armor. Asked, "Blessed One, I understand the meaning spoken by the Blessed One, Blessed One, form is neither bound nor liberated," and so forth, which is to explain the meaning of being neither bound nor liberated. "I understand the meaning spoken by the Blessed One," is like the illusion-like example of donning great armor spoken by the Blessed One.

In terms of meaning, it is actually without armor. Because the five aggregates such as form are actually without substance, so in the case of ordinary people, they are bound by afflictions, and when they become noble ones, they are liberated from afflictions. It is not right to say this either. In order to explain this principle, it is said that form is neither bound nor liberated, and so on. After that, the venerable son of Maitreya said to the venerable Subhuti: Venerable Subhuti, is form neither bound nor liberated? etc., this is to re-examine the meaning and words of Subhuti's statement that the five aggregates are neither bound nor liberated, so he asked in this way. He replied: Venerable one, yes, yes, Venerable one, form is neither bound nor liberated, etc., Subhuti replied that the five aggregates are neither bound nor liberated. Maitreya (the son) said: Venerable Subhuti, what is this form that is neither bound nor liberated like this? etc., this is to ask in order to distinguish and explain the situation where the five aggregates are like dreams, etc., and are neither bound nor liberated. He replied: Venerable one, whatever form is like a dream, that is neither bound nor liberated, etc., this is to say that the five aggregates are like dreams, illusions, echoes, eye diseases, images, mirages, and transformations. Such forms, etc., are not truly existent, so there is neither bondage nor liberation. Venerable one, past form is neither bound nor liberated, etc., this is to say that the five aggregates of the three times of past, present, and future are also neither bound nor liberated. Why is that? Venerable one, because there is no form, form is neither bound nor liberated, etc., this is to explain the reason why the five aggregates of the three times mentioned above are neither bound nor liberated, that is, the five aggregates of the three times are actually without substance, empty, and unborn, so they are neither bound nor liberated. Venerable one, virtuous form is neither bound nor liberated, etc., this is to say that virtue
