The worldly dharmas from feeling and so on up to old age and death, and the transcendental dharmas from generosity paramita and so on up to all-knowingness, should also be combined. It is said: The venerable Sharadvatiputra is also like that, that the formless also has no attachment to form, up to that all-knowingness does not exist also has no attachment to all-knowingness, is the meaning explained by the holy Shariputra, repeated and spoken by Subhuti, and expressed agreement, saying "It is like that." The venerable Sharadvatiputra, Bodhisattva Mahasattva, thus practices prajnaparamita, up to therefore called Bodhisattva Mahasattva, is to summarize and show the meaning of dwelling in non-attachment, Thus, because there is no attachment to all dharmas such as unequal and equal uncommon bodhicitta, it is called Bodhisattva Mahasattva, which shows the meaning of the word "Great Mind". Thus, after the holy Subhuti showed the meaning of the word "Great Mind", in order to distinguish the paragraphs, then the holy Katyayaniputra explained the meaning of the word "Great Mind". After that, the venerable Maitreyaputra said to the Bhagavan: World Honored One, for what reason is Bodhisattva Mahasattva called, I also have the courage to explain, etc., that because of putting on great armor, entering the Great Vehicle, and dwelling in the Great Vehicle, it is called Bodhisattva Mahasattva. World Honored One, that is a sentient being who has put on great armor, which shows putting on great armor, for the benefit of many sentient beings, starting the practice of the Bodhisattva, putting on the great armor of diligence, showing the great aspiration. World Honored One, that is a sentient being who has correctly entered the Great Vehicle, which shows the great practice, after entering the Great Vehicle, accomplishing the great benefit of oneself and others.

Therefore. That is because he is a sentient being who truly abides in the Great Vehicle. The path and fruit of the Bodhisattva are called the Great Vehicle. Abiding in it indicates the vastness of the fruit. Then, the venerable Sharadvatiputra said to the venerable Maitreya's son: Venerable Maitreya, by what measure is a Bodhisattva Mahasattva said to be wearing great armor? Up to the point of asking in order to explain the meaning of wearing great armor in detail. Maitreya said: Venerable Sharadvatiputra, here, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva does not abide in the perfection of giving for the sake of a few sentient beings, and does not give, but practices the perfection of giving for the sake of all sentient beings, and gives. Thus, the noble Maitreya explained the meaning of wearing great armor. There are two types of wearing great armor: vast intention and vast practice. There are also three types of vast intention: limitless objects, limitless sentient beings, and limitless effort. Among them, the limitless object is what Maitreya said: Venerable Sharadvatiputra, here, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva does not abide in the perfection of giving for the sake of a few sentient beings, and does not give, but practices the perfection of giving for the sake of all sentient beings, and gives. Up to the point of not abiding in the perfection of wisdom for the sake of a few sentient beings, and not cultivating wisdom, but practicing the perfection of wisdom for the sake of all sentient beings, and cultivating wisdom. Thus, it means not only practicing the six perfections for the sake of the sentient beings in this land, but practicing the six perfections for the sake of all sentient beings in the ten directions, which are boundless and limitless. The Bodhisattva Mahasattva does not only cause such a number of sentient beings to enter into peace in the realm of no remaining aggregates.
